SWEET! Also you can use 1/4 glycerin 3/4 distilled water. The more glycerin the slower your glitter will fall. I make these for my jewelry business. Works great. Many trial n error. Lol. Toodles debs from Texas

What if you attached the dome and then filled with oil through a pre drilled hole in the base or peak of the dome. You can then seal it after you fill it. If you drill it near the edge, you can title the piece as you fill it and minimize the bubble.
@mooncrafternailsandmore79073 жыл бұрын
I make a lot of these and before I attach the two parts I drill two small holes in the base, once glued I can use a needle and inject fluid until it's absolutely full. I then dry the two holes well and I seal them with a drop UV resin and that way I don't have the large air bubble in the globe. You are right that you are doing the bass upside down and that's so that it stays centered and you don't see the glue where you attached it. Although I like the way you did it you can see why it's supposed to sit in that Ridge.

Thanks a lot Steve. You've gone and done it again! Added another OMG I've gotta do this to my ever growing list of things that there isn't enough time in the day to do. Let me see, I've already given up housework, laundry and started grocery shopping online. If I stop cooking, ignore my husband, give up sleeping and showering...............hmmm.

I wish I could give you a big HUG! I suffer from mental health issues, and have been on medication for decades. I am so happy you have your crafts; I so enjoy your tutorials!!! I am trying to get a place in my apartment, where I can do crafts, as I, too, find crafting to be therapeutic. I will keep you in my prayers, and hope you know that although I only know you thru your videos, God knows you through and through, and ABSOLUTELY LOVES YOU COMPLETELY!!! ❤ 🤗

For those that don't like the messy edge from the glue, could make a cute cover over the edge like with little pearls or resin pieces like popcorn and cranberries shaped, or anything that would fit the theme of the project.

So cute! I like to use glycerin in shakers, just cuz I feel like it's a bit thinner than mineral oil and you can thin it out with distilled water without it separating too bad, but it looks really nice with the oil, too. Love it!
@maryann38203 жыл бұрын
What kind of glycerin do you use? I have used "shaker oil" I got in a kit box but it's expensive to buy and I tried using mineral oil but it was too thick and I was looking for something thinner.
@shaunacorrigan93723 жыл бұрын
@@maryann3820 I just get vegetable glycerin from Amazon, but you can find it lots of places. If it's thicker than you'd like, you can just add water until it's the consistency you want. Super easy!

My husband jokes that glitter is the “alarm” in my craft room. I have hidden Christmas gifts in there for years, my husband once needed double sided tape, I was at work, so he went into the craft room, everything is labelled so he found it super quick. When I got back I said “you been in the craft room?” He laughed and said “guilty, but how did you know?” I handed him a mirror and he saw glitter on his face, in his hair and on his shirt. He now avoids my craft room... lol

The *Like Button* has been _booped_ and I must say, this shaker is absolutely adorable!! That mold looks like it’s meant for shakers, so what is it originally intended for-plant terrariums?

It's actually originally intended as a "cloche" or display jar. Like in old apothecary shops

Hello. I have a question. The dome doesn't seem crystal clear. Is this because of fingerprints left when you touched it after removing it from the mold, or does it have a slightly cloudy appearance?

I saw a youtuber put a sphere of ice inside resin somehow and because it was solid it didn’t react with the resin (you’d have to figure out how he did it) but maybe you could freeze some glitters and things inside the ice and then put that in resin and when its set and the ice has melted it would have a snowglobe effect?!
@mairem.93003 жыл бұрын
Water with glycerin might be a better filler for those. And might let the glitter move more freely than oil, but less like water.
