Seattle fan here. Brandon Tanev is a weird player…the guy seemingly gets an attack on the rush every game and he almost never finishes when one on one with the goalie. He’s a good forechecker and a penalty killer but his lack of scoring ability will drive you insane.

Not sure about B Tanev... pretty costly for someone who is preferably a 4th liner. If we get a nice sweetener for it then maybe? But we have cap issues of our own to attend to and he doesn't help that

Hockey sense is the big difference between these two D. If Parekh can translate his skill into the NHL then this is the type of player who impossible to acquire by trade. Parekh can only be acquired by draft. He’s probably my preferred pick right now (I would take him at #2…but I’m not a scout and don’t trust my ability to project skill).

I feel like there was similar discussions about Evan Bouchard, I think Dickenson can take the next step. He is a top choice for me on Defence at 7. However. If Iginla or Catton are available I still think I would take one of them... Iginla is my top choice tho

You should not pay to acquire Brandon Tanev. He only has 1 career 30 point season and he makes 3.5 million against the cap. It's easily 2 million too much for that player. Seattle should be paying to get rid of Tanev or retaining nearly 50%.

If the Sens get rid of Chabot and Chychrun, then Dickinson as a right-shot D could make sense. But if you only get rid of one of the current right-shot D, then I would go with Parekh. Overall, I lean to Parekh. Great show lads!

Im not sure you can pull off this kind of hocus pocus and come out on top. That's gonna be a lot of contract. There will be no trade limitations too. Too high a price for no guarantees.

Tanev's value last season was $1m according to Athletic. Acquiring him at that deal just to attract (and overpay) his bro seems way too rich. Plus we'd be required to extend him as well to make it make sense.

6M for 3 years for Tanev would be a disaster. They don't have the room and that's way too rich for a 34 year old who has a history of injury problems. Edit: adding that I think 3*4M is much more appropriate.

Daccord and Tanev from Seattle for Forsberg and Sokolov. Gives Seattle cap dpace to go out and get the help they need. Ottawa gets depth they need.

Daccord was a top ten goalie in 2023/24 and he’s cheap so good luck with that.
