One thing that’s starting to concern me that’s not being talked about at all is nepotism. Would Rodriguez‘s son be hired as the quarterback coach if he wasn’t his son? No, he wouldn’t there are more qualified coaches. Would Travis Trickett be hired if he weren’t Rick Trickett son? He was fired and awful at coastal Carolina. Jeff Castels son as well as an analyst only because he’s a son of Jeff. I’ve always hated nepotism. I’m not saying that’s 100% what’s going on but you have to admit three daddys son cases on our staff is a little much.

His son played at Arizona and ULM. Played QB at the highest level of college football and knows the offense better then anyone. it is his Dad for crying out loud.. He has been around this offense since day 1.. He is a position coach, a QB coach. if he was the OC, then yes he does not have the experience.

In RR I trust about recruiting. As I've said before RR knows what the NFL has known for years - there's talent in Division II /FCS/NAIA. Cignetti's 12 core recruits from JMU followed him to Indiana after transitioning from FCS.

West Virginia just picked up another major piece out of the transfer portal moments ago, adding Nevada CB transfer Michael Coats Jr. Coats earned an 80.4 defensive rating from ProFootballFocus, including an 87.0 coverage mark. The latter ranks seventh out of all cornerbacks with at least 400 coverage snaps.

Interesting thing about Cam, he was a QB converted into a receiver. Would WVU ever see him take a few snaps? Or a possible double pass with him making that throw? Many things you can do with Cam.

P4 doesn't mean they are better. Most P4 transfers we would get are backups that don't get much playing time, where you can get a G5 player that has seen snaps all season. P4 doesn't equate to being better.

The core of indiana's transfers this year came from James Madison University (12 tranfers from JMU) They followed Cignetti from JMU, - Most successful season ever in Hoosier football. Not saying all the Jax State transfers following RR to Morgantown will be lightening in the bottle but he's going to have success I believe These transfers are very capable and frees up $$$ for recruits like the QB from Texas A&M. WVU does not have SEC/Big 10 money. To succeed must think & react outside the box much like what RR did his first stint in Morgantown

Plus the best coach you guys could get was a guy that screwed you over before. Your AD at WVU is stupid for bringing him back, he did it once, he will do it again. I don’t think it’s a problem if they fit the system or they are you upper and top G5 guys. If you get P4 guys most of the time they are back up P4 guys so there isn’t much of a difference expect G5 guys more than likely have more playing time and n field experience. Most P4 schools aren’t going to have starters transfer unless they are on a bad team and not getting paid anything.

It don’t matter the star rating or school. If a player is talented then he’s talented that’s it and trust me that’s what RICH ROD excels at is finding TRUE talent . Half the rating system is rigged to help big schools

We have had talent and nothing was made of it.. Guys like Frazier, Milum were great to begin with but outside of them there hasn't been any development.. RR can definitely find and develop players which will definitely show on Saturdays he does better with guys that have been overlooked...

An assembly of the top players on blue blood teams will not beat any pro team, same for an assembly of group of 5 beating a blue blood school. The hope lies in anomalies of any given Sunday and turnovers.

One other thing...Cody Schrader transfered up to missouri last year from division II Truman State NOBODY wanted him. Was all SEC RB last year/ now with the LA Rams

Bottom line…players who were all conference and or excelled at the G5 level is less of a risk than a JUCO All-American. They are proven at a higher level of football and proven academically and behaviorally. If we signed 15 JUCO All-Americans, people would love it. In essence, it’s the same thing.

As far as round ball goes we were missing tenner.our 1st bad game where we were cold shooting which happens with all teams. We get tenner back and ever get the coaches son back look out. Well beat colorado to get back on track cmon😊

Why couldn’t Neil Brown you asked? The offense line did not play up to expectations! They were bad. How many times we could not get 4th an 1. The backs numbers proved that and the wide receivers did not block! The defense was bad. Probably coaching had a whole lot to do with the losses. Donaldson did not improve from year 1. His toughness deminished!
