Tree jacks are a smarter way to go when applicable but not everyone is smart enough to use a one. Sometimes wedges make a lot more sense depending on the situation and wedges are more affordable.

Tree jacks are really dumb. If you have the skills you can drop it without one. Just do your face cut back cut and if you need wedges use them
