Last night my wife asked me as i get closer to retirement, what brings me joy. My first thought was my her, my daughters, our grandkids and my chainsaws. I love running my saws. That's my therapy. It brings me joy, especially if I'm helping someone else. This is a very timely video.

Great video, as always, Buckin'! The most rewarding work I've ever done, has always been work that was done for others; almost always for no repayment of any sort. Sometimes an exchange of services happens, but rarely. I just got back from spending time in the moutains of North Carolina, cleaning up after the hurrican, and it was the most rewarding, relaxing work I've ever done.

Wise words: “We need to get Bark’d up fellas. Lying down and watching instagram reels is fine, but this is the balance here. This is where the balance comes in.” Amen! Some of us have been blessed with get’n Bark’d up for most of our lives. There’s lessons in our scars and they serve as reminders of close calls and how delicate, fragile and yet durable our skin suits can be. Get up and get out before you miss the opportunity of a lifetime, we were created for more! Bless’ns All, Tedd

Dad logged most of his life, always had the biggest McCullough or Homelite made. Then he was introduced to Jonsereds at a local Logging congress. He used that 80 for years… he then made the switch to the Huskies and stuck with them to the end. Ran an 1100 for years. The last 10-12 years it favorite was a Husky 162 with heated handles. 90% of the time with an 18 inch bar and a 28 inch if he had to make a large cut but really liked the 18. He always said he liked a bar that if your hands hung down the tip of the bar never reached his feet. He’s gone but we still have his saw….

Coupla things right off the bat: Good to watch your channel again after me needing to research topics pertinent to my camper corn-struction. Nextly, the sound of THAT powersaw is 2-stroke perfection. The pop and crackle at idle is music. The choice of chain, here, is astonishing to this newcomer. Yer slicing through that tree like a knife through warm butter. There's no doubt that this new tuner you speak of has "the touch" and is associated w/ Ironhorse. God bless you, BR. Thanks as always.

I am a Car and Gun Nerd who has became a Chainsaw Nerd in a bad way. I love this channel It's one of the best out there. As I have started the process of clearing 20 wooded acres by myself this channel has been both entertaining and informative. It has helped me stay safe and alive which is the ultimate end goal. As of today I have a 550XP/16in with diy muffler mod, 562Xp/20in a HT250 pole pruner and now a MS 500I/25in. After watching this I think I need to get the 562xp ported. Why? because chainsaws are cool, but modified ones are cooler. I'm in the south eastern Appalachians so the trees are not huge, but none are on flat ground . To Buckin. Any chance you want to do a video in NC? I know where a couple hurricane downed trees are still ;). free accommodations and travel on me if you decide you want to do something crazy.

For some of us guys there’s something about running a chainsaw and doing manual labor that clears the mind and makes you feel like a man that’s changing the world for the better. I bought a brand new Stihl 046 magnum in 9/99 while I was still building houses and clearing land. I’ve still got that saw and it looks and runs like a brand new one. Put a west coast Bark Box and some nasty looking felling dogs on it not because it needed it but because it turns me on. My wife thinks I’m crazy and wasting money but it makes me happy. I’m retired now but I’m just waiting for a tree to give me a good reason to break out that Magnum!!! On a more personal note I hope your Dad is okay and enjoy his company while you have him. Time counter. 16 minutes 16 seconds. You're right it's not all about the money it's all about cool points. Add street cred. Add respect to the list the simple fact is the more you can do the more you can do. Even my doctor told me this and I'm missing one leg do I do it for free all the time not all the time but I do a lot of free work for people that just can't afford it. And I appreciate the cool points sometimes I get an apple pie sometimes I get fence posts barbed wire old axes or tools just to make up the difference. The barter system is cool but so is cash. Buckin' Billy, what size square files do you use when you are changing the teeth from round to square cut? We live in Oklahoma, no tall trees to speak of, but some large diameter Black Jack Oaks that have tough wood because of the twists and turns in the growth of the trees. this dulls my round cut chains quickly and I want to try using the square chain teeth once to see if they hold a longer cut life before having to sharpen. then how easy or hard it will be to re-sharpen. thanks in advance for any advice.

The way you’re running that saw with cutting that tree down is that pretty much how you want to run a new saw when you’re trying to break it in

ive heard that the anti vibe and bar mounts are superior on the huskys for sure. my problem is atleast in my area husqavarna is severly lacking in the service department. there isnt a husky dealer anywhere close by to me and theres we have a great stihl service shop here. i think husqvarna could step there game up in that regard atleast here in the usa because that is a big reason why stihl is leading in the market for commercial service saws

@@BuckinBillyRaySmith haha great answer i love it. in all honesty my only saw i have is a stihl 046 but my boss's main reason to go with stihl is because theres no service around or anything good really. i would love to try some huskys sometime just never had the chance and i dont really have the money to be buying new chainsaws sadly but hopfully someday. we do have a husky 3120 but it has a stump grinder attachment on it. that thing will make a man out of you real quick lol the 2 saws that i personally own are the 046 and a 020t. love them both. anyways thanks for all you do brother been watching since around 50k stumbled upon you watching sharpening videos and you for sure helped me out with that.

If you put some pitch - from the blisters on the bark of the balsam/grand fir (or get some from where something damaged a pine) on your cut, it will heal so fast you will have a hard time believing it! And it also takes all the pain away!
