I'm living in Korea and one of the ways I'd show interest in someone and can tell if they have in interest in me is how we smile when around each other. We have to wear masks everywhere all the time. I've been told by many people that they really like my smile. The one I have a crush on I first saw her picture and thought she looked cute because of her smile. I very rarily see her smile because of the mask. People rarily get to see mine, so my usual signal to give people warmth is gone. I don't know how to compensate. I'd usually try to tell people jokes to keep them smiling, but now I can only judge their facial expressions from their eyes. Some people don't know how to smile with their eyes. I wonder what has worked in the middle east before this. I need to adapt.

Unless they have social anxiety, then very few of the above will be true. They'll avoid looking at you, because they don't want to make you awkward. They'll lean away, for fear of invading your space without you wanting it (or their own bubble reasons). They'll be terrified of seeming like someone you might not like, so they might clam up and distance themselves. They might smile at you a little more than they smile at other people. Their posture will definitely not open up to you. They might now be able to manage slightly longer eye contact than before. It's highly unlikely they'll try to make physical contact first, and might shy away if you do. If they make time for you still, then they definitely think of you as important, even if it's not romantically. Behavior mimicry is super common in friend groups to begin with, please don't use this as a guideline. Remember that Psych2go is for entertainment and some soft learning. The real world is a lot more complicated than simple lists.

You’ll still need to take up the courage to talk with her but you have some of the pressure taken off of you. Others can initiate a conversation that you can naturally segway into that hopefully serves as that “mental bridge” to your crush if that makes sense. Which is again, hopefully something you both have interest in talking about.

See, I'm in the difficult circumstance of them having gotten out of a relationship a month and a half ago. Do I continue waiting, or do I go for it? Some people need more time than others to process their emotions and reconcile themselves with the breakup, so I definitely don't wanna be overstepping my bounds by asking them out too soon. Then again, I don't want too much time to pass or someone else might ask her out before I think enough time has passed. She was with her ex for a couple years, and it was pretty serious, so there's another factor. I've seen some of these signs crop up from time to time but that could just be because she's a genuinely nice person and has an open heart. Idk dude, I've been out of a relationship for several years now so I feel really out of touch with how this goes. The problem is, if I shoot my shot and miss, it's not like I can just avoid being awkward around her since I work with her. It took me a year to realize that my best friend (then crush, now boyfriend) had a massive crush on me. All of my friends had guessed it but not me. He would always do things for me, one time when I was in tears, he was the only one comforting me and put his arm around me, and he would show many of the signs in the video. I started to have a crush on him earlier this year and told my friend. I specifically told her not to tell him because I hadn’t picked up the signs at that point (I only put the pieces together after we got together) but she told him anyways. She set something up between us and we confessed to each other. It wasn’t a hug deal until recently where: A) there has been a lot more physical contact B) we’ve had more time with each other And C) we had our first kiss 😊 We’re doing well now. So yeah... my crush does look at me an smile at me, we always goof around and laugh about the same stupid jokes, quote silly movies... he opened up to me quite a bit by telling me about his past (both in terms of life in general and past relationships that failed), showed me places where he used to live or work... just yesterday I finally had the guts to tell him that I do feel more for him than just friendship (albeit I only had the guts to send him a long text message because I'm unbelievably awkward and never managed to tell him face to face...), but that I also don't really expect to be what he's looking for, what he wants or what he could imagine being in a relationship with. I got a long message back and just as I expected, he told me that his past relationships have "cured him" of the thought and that although he likes me a lot and I've become very important to him (first time ever somebody told me I'm an important part of their life, btw), he doesn't want to ruin our deep friendship by starting a relationship. I guess we're both kinda scarred souls... but no matter what, I don't want to give up the friendship and trust that we have, even if that means cutting back on my feelings for him a bit... and who knows what the future might still bring...

i thought this guy for sure liked me, he would hold my hand on scary rides, always ask about how im doing and even asked about my cat, invited me to go to breakfast once at like 11pm with his roommate, id catch him looking at me and he'd make silly faces and smile, got into deep conversations one on one and he's told me things no one else in our friend group knows, and much more. so i told him i liked him and he didnt outright say he didnt feel the same, he just kept apologizing and saying how sorry he is for ruining my night etc. i was heartbroken and so confused as to how i got all the signs wrong. Then a few nights as he was leaving to go home he held my hand for a few seconds and the proceeded to teach me a hand shake. Then last night his roommate proceeded to tell me 3 times infront on him thay he thinks i will be his first kiss. I asked him why? He said do you know his type? Im just so lost and confused as to why he doesnt feel the same but gives me all the signs. He's truly one of the nicest and sweetest guys ive ever met, he's never been in a relationship so i doubt he's even trying to use me or just wants the attention.
