Been watching your chanel for a few years now I'm an amateur turner based in Australia it's super hard find the wood ( briar ) and have to order off eBay and other international sites. But no issue there. I just wanted to know where you got the chuck jaws from as the company I go through doesn't do them ( the flat long ones ) I've searched everywhere to no avail could you please tell me where you got them from as I have all the other tools besides the chuck jaws would love to know. Thank you in advance and kind regards cam

Thanks for watching :-) your best bet for specialty jaws like this is VermontFreehand.com :-) they're based in the US.

Hi Nick. I´ve noticed that you clean que sander wheel and the sander belt with something beforehand. What is that you are using? Thanks for the videos; they are very useful to me.
@MassisPipes2 жыл бұрын
It's a gummi sanding cleaner stick, home depot and the likes should carry them

What's material the stem made of?
@MassisPipes9 ай бұрын
Black Ebonite rod from SEM Germany :-)
@ricat12599 ай бұрын
how about polyacetal pom rod, can it?
@MassisPipes9 ай бұрын
@@ricat1259 pom is self lubricating and useful for the tenon. It's not a good option for a stem since it doesn't polish as well, is less comfortable on the teeth and you cannot bend it into a shape. It could technically work for a straight stem but I'd advise against it.
@ricat12599 ай бұрын
Thank you for the explanation, because in my country Indonesia it is very difficult to find stem material like the one you mentioned
@MassisPipes9 ай бұрын
SEM Germany ships worldwide, so you can order from them directly :-)

Hello, what can I do to brighten the smooth surface of my pipe
@MassisPipes2 жыл бұрын
That depends, if you are finishing a new pipe, it's best to use light stain, sand to a high grit and polish/buff. Finally buff on a layer of Carnauba wax.

can I ask why the name Massis?
@MassisPipes2 жыл бұрын
A nickname I got in college, after John Massis, the Belgian strongman :-)

I'm not entirely sure what you mean? If you're inquiring about pricing: this was a repair for an existing pipe, something I don't normally do due to the complexity and risk involved for the original pipe.
