Awesome that is great to hear about the shower door. We love it when an owner shares real life experience. I LOVE this trailer and layout. The Cracker Barrel factor is huge to me. We are the type that doesn't need a lot of space, but would appreciate the nicer touches. Too bad they don't offer some upgrades. I also think the price is ridiculous. 18 months ago (right at the beginning of the COVID crisis) I saw this unit selling for $21k USD. Today I came across a 2 year old used unit advertised for $37k. LOL Outstanding review! Thank you guys for your thoroughness.
@DoesSizeMatter3 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked it. We hear you, the cracker barrel factor is important to us too. Pricing is going a little crazy. Part of it is about supply and demand and used trailers fall into that too and now the 2022s are going up because of the rising cost of supplies to build these but ya it is frustrating. As far as getting a few bells and whistles you might want to try looking more at the Imagine that isn't an XLS but then we don't think you will find this size or floor plan. Its tough to find the perfect one. We do have some tools coming out soon to help you with that so stay tuned. Thanks for watching

@M Strummer Don't forget that these are Canadian $ but yes prices are going up
@DoesSizeMatter3 жыл бұрын
@M Strummer Well it's great that you got yours at such a great price. We are glad to hear you had a great time on your first adventure too. Weather makes a big difference and it's good to hear you made it through the storms no worse for wear and now you are ready for whatever comes next. Enjoy your rig.
@DoesSizeMatter3 жыл бұрын
@M Strummer Ok we see what you are saying and there is merit to buying from a dealer closer to the manufacturer as they don't pay as much in shipping costs which they don't have to pass on to you the buyer. It is for sure nice if you can order one as you mention but the down side to that is that dealerships are less likely to negotiate on their price in these circumstances because it is not stock on their lot. These days though dealers are having a hard time getting stock for their lot but they are always more apt to negotiate on those. Another point to consider is the distance away you are from the dealership you purchased from when it comes time for service. If you are travelling near your purchase dealership regularly then you can probably work it out but for many the cost of driving back and forth could outweigh the savings. Of course one always hopes they can take their RV to the local dealership for service and rightly so they should but with the long lineups to get service done dealerships are more likely to service their customers before others and this could force you back the long distance to your purchase dealership. There are lots of pros and cons to consider and how each one effects the buyer is an individual thing. Choices, choices that's what it's all about. Thanks for bringing up how well it worked out for you. Who knows who else it'll benefit.
@DoesSizeMatter3 жыл бұрын
@M Strummer It's a good thing you are handy. The types of issues you mention are not uncommon and for those not quite as handy they will have to plan for how they will handle these types of situations and factor in the costs of those trips back and forth and you are absolutely right about the long wait times and lack of parts.

This is the first one we fell in love with.. but no salesman would return our calls about the ones on their lot! Completely useable with the slide in and fits in National Parks!
@DoesSizeMatter3 жыл бұрын
You are right about this being completely useable with the slide in and it will fit into National Parks more easily then the bigger ones. Sometimes salespeople are such pains in the ..... well you know. Unfortunately, the current market for RVs has made salespeople a little drunk with success and any customer service they did have has fallen off because they don't have to work as hard for the sale. Find a dealership with great reviews and feel free to ask for a specific salesperson and tell them why you are choosing them because inevitably when the market cools down the ones who gave good customer service will still be standing while the others will have a really big hang over. Thanks for watching

Fantastic video as always, great layout, but I agree, no outlet in the bathroom was a huge over sight. I'm also surprised they did not keep up with the times and add some solar panels on the roof, and an invertor.
@DoesSizeMatter3 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked it and I know we were really bummed about the electrical in the bathroom. Solar would be lovely but the XLS is a much more basic version of the Imagine and GD is actually taking features away to make it lighter and less expensive so it doesn't surprise us that it does not have solar. But there is no question that solar is the future for RVs. Thanks for watching.

I totally get what they where going for, and do not disagree with you at all, but unless this was a first time weekend warrior, buyer that only wanted to stay at camp grounds with full hook ups and pay full price this may be there there second camper after they figure out all the free places they could stay if they only had some solar back up.

I haven't been able to see one of these in person the dealerships around here have trouble keeping any if they do get one. My husband doesn't like the slide on that side. My only thing is it would be perfect if had a dinette and a couch. Not crazy about that table. Amazon has a collapsible dish drainage tub that will fit on the inside of one side of that sink but like divided sinks better personally. Still waiting on a review on the Transcend 240ml if you can find one to review. Really like grand design .Was there possibly an outlet underneath cabinet in bathroom ? Bummer if there isn't any. I would really like to know the input on shower door also Great video Denise as always
@DoesSizeMatter3 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked it. These, like most are pretty hard to keep on lots. We hear your husband regarding slides on the passenger side, especially if it is the only one. We wonder what it would look like if the floor plan was flipped? You can get it with a dinette but not a couch and there is not room for both. Where there is a will there is a way to fix little issues like drainage, your's sounds good. The transcend is on our list. We will keep working on it. I did look under the cabinet for the outlet and didn't see one. Is it possible that I missed it? I sure hope so. There has been a comment on this video that did say he had no trouble with his shower door. Look for it, it might help you out. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and watching.

As far as Year of Camper (All Manufactures) 10th Digit of Vin Number designates Year. Also True on all Auto Manufactures.
@DoesSizeMatter3 жыл бұрын
We hear you on this point and the sticker on the side of the trailer does show the exact date of manufacture but the point is that in mid summer July or Aug manufacturers implement design changes and dealerships start marketing these RVs as the next model year. So it is kind of misleading as obviously that year hasn't got here yet so the RV can't possibly be a 2022 yet, but for design and resale purposes a person needs to know what they are buying because within a couple of months difference on the actual manufacture date they will be paying the increased price for the new model year and need to be able to use that when resale time comes even though the sticker say something different. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching

This is a great couples floor plan. Every time I see a review, I wonder when you hang your towels in the bathroom. There doesn't seem to be any towel racks! Anyhow, many buyers agonize between this plan and the 22 MLE that gives you the dinette and theatre seating, but has a small bathroom and no bedroom privacy. Personally, I think the new 23LDE is going to be the sweet spot. The same larger reclining couch, a dinette, two doors, a private bedroom and a large bath. It's going to be a huge seller for Grand Design. We are about 5 minutes away from ordering one! Love your reviews!
@DoesSizeMatter3 жыл бұрын
Oh wow, that's super exciting to hear. Congrats! The 23LDE is very nice and we hope to get to film one soon. It has a lot of great features and wonderful counter space. The cons seems to be clothing storage space but I'd like to take a look under the bed. As for towel racks I think most folks are using command hooks and then they can put them wherever works best instead of the manufacturer screwing things into the walls or cabinetry permanently. Be sure to let us know if you pull the trigger and how long it will take for you to get it. We want to come along for the ride. We are glad you are enjoying our channel. Thanks for watching
