All this talk about Skrillex...need more appreciation for Boyz Noize

tienes razón, boyz noize debe tener más reconocimiento pero... Otira debe tenerlo mucho más que Boyz Noize, solo basta escuchar su EP "TAKE CONTROL (OTIRA)" para saber de lo que está hecho...

I think we can all agree that Dog Blood brought a fresh new air into the music scene. That's what we all needed. Originality and unique genre bending sounds! Thanks Skrillex and Boys Noize for coming back. LOVE from Slovakia!

@@Dev1nci Well, according to me, a good music production is the one where the mix is well balanced (levels, compression, etc.,) and is interesting for the listener. Takes a lot of practice to achieve that a good mix.

I heard this EP for the first time during a study hall in my senior year of highschool on the day it came out. It was tough to swallow. I remember almost writing it off as a musically monochromatic, mechanical and discombobulated collection of sounds. This track - and in particular, that subtle snippet of melody that begins at the three minute mark and lasts until roughly 3:40 - was the only thing that promoted me, months later as an afterthought, to give the EP a second listen. It's a moment of shelter that allowed me to really process what I was listening to, and it tied the entire EP together. It's one of those EPs where two or three listens are needed to fully warm up to it, but it's now one of my favorite releases, probably up there in my top three with Deorro's Good Evening and Jon Hopkins' Immunity (my tastes are inconsistent, I know). I love that it's a game changer, unique and fiercely independent in style and atmosphere, with no blatantly commercialized production elements at all. One morning in February, 2020, I got up at 4:30 AM. Soon I was packed into a Honda Fit with two friends, getting McDonald's breakfast in the dark in Superior, Wisconsin. We are all railroad enthusiasts and we were driving to a model railroad show in Steven's Point. My two friends listen to Jazz and Pop, respectively, but miraculously they passed me the aux chord and I put this EP on. It wasn't their thing, but I won't forget getting on the freeway as this song played. A streak of turquoise pierced the dark blue world we had set out in. I remember feeling a lot of different things - stress about school, my relationships, my job - but in that moment I was happy, doing something I loved with people I cared about, and a life changing pandemic wasn't anywhere in my mind yet. That memory resides in this song for me.
