I feel ya! I used to be able to just leave home and jump on trail. Now, I gotta balance and figure out which trail is best for him as he is still getting his trail legs. The rangers know me in Georgia, so it’s best I play by the rules.

Exactly! This area was protected about fifty years ago, so no development has provided this incredible area to feel more like the mountains.

During the winter is the best! During the summer that river turns brown when the water is up or after a rain. That forest is incredible but people are starting to destroy it. Shame.

Sad but true...also, more people are writing on the trees and leaving trash. It's a shame but it is Atlanta...it's to be expected at this point in time.

Liked your hyperlapse on the way in and the reminder about cleaning up after your dog(s). Good local knowledge regarding the resident snake population, as well 👍 That section of the trail with the rock formations, right up close to the river, definitely seems like a highlight-reel area!

Thank you my friend! It’s a blessing to take your dog on trail, but so many people leave little presents behind so watch your step. There are a lot of snakes here and I’ve run into copperheads on trail and off here by the water. Great spot if you are ever in Atlanta for some urban hiking!
