Glad you like the replacement! Zpacks now has zips and peak vents as well with their 'light' versions. I prefer a 2 pole design myself with an offset head design to maximize interior space and to help it feel a lot less claustrophobic in the tent. Nice one Andy!

Will say that the extra riser rods on the DupleXL are a concern will separate over time and make it difficult to pack down. Like that I don’t have to use any extra items to set this up.

Cool tent! Nice features! I still have my duplex, but I'm thinking of going back to a tarp. I never had a problem with insects even before I started using permethrin. I love ventilation and views with entry/exit in all directions. This tent does look better that the duplex.

Its also outstanding fishing in that are too, especially for trout if its above Morgan Falls Dam
@MetroOnTheMove6 күн бұрын
Agreed! Do you eat the trout or just catch and release?
@br1ooksmith1046 күн бұрын
@@MetroOnTheMove we have eaten trout in that area in the past. I know this year the DNR has a warning about pollution in the river, so I'm not 100% sure if they're safe to eat right now. That aside, I'd rate it as the best trout river I've ever fished on. But to answer your question, we mostly catch and release. We never keep the brown trout, no matter what size they are. They're all wild fish, and some of them get pretty darn big, especially in the lower sections around Abbotts Bridge and Jones Bridge. But that river is LOADED full of trout. Once you get on one, usually you'll wear them out in one particular area.

The mesh doors are very interesting, I think I like the design better than the recent Zpacks d-shaped doors. Looks like they provide much better access to the vestibule.

Having the extra space in the vestibule is nice! This was only .5 oz more than DupleXL and provides all the features I need.
