Great, Great, Great!! I've been teaching dogs and people for fifty years and language is one of the first things I teach and I stress to keep it simple...3, 4, 5 words at first...repeat, repeat, repeat....but as the weeks go by and peanut butter treats and Sara are mentioned A MILLION TIMES AND WE LOVE THEM!!! their vocabulary expands greatly. Dogs are a different species, but the same noises repeated take on meaning....I love this.

I had that same experience with my lovva-pup. She not only knew over 100 words.....but knew the roads we took while riding.....and got very excited if going to a favorite place. She was so smart....she'd watch me to see if I would hit b the turn signal....and started making her " excited noise" if I was reading to turn down a favorite road.....like the road to the lake where she would swim for hours, she's been gone for 15 years now....after living 15 years...and I miss her still.

Our Schnauzer was the same way. He's been gone since 2012 but I still miss him. My wife said I was his favorite human. People would say that he behaved, minded better than their kids. One day I started using hand commands with him and it seemed he immediately knew what they were.

I frequently went to visit my parents, long freeway drive and she settled in for the ride, but when I got to the road about 1 mile away from my parents ... she would always jump in the front seat and sit up wagging her tail. She knew! Didn't do that for other trips but she knew the way to grandma's house!
