I have 2 pit mixes that I caught that were strays. The one is more traditional looking than the other. He's an all white APBT/American Bulldog mix so he's got desirable size along with pit bull look. I have gotten quite a few "hood" characters asking me if I wanted to breed him. I would look at them and say, "Absolutely not! I don't believe in bringing more pit bulls into this world when so many are in the shelter." I don't go further than that and rant and rave or nothing because I have to live in that neighborhood, but I can't say I'm exactly friendly with them either. I see types like that as the enemy of animal welfare because it's their reckless sales that put dogs in homes where about a third (being optimistic here) are neglected, abused, and/or abandoned when the chips are down. I've caught 35 dogs in 9 years in my area (majority pit bulls/mixes) to give you an idea of how bad the situation is. These are just the ones I've seen as a citizen who doesn't do dog rescue for a living, to add more details. Thank goodness my county (Dekalb of metro Atlanta) has a no-kill shelter to turn them in to. These backyard breeders are the worst enemy to this wonderful breed of dog. They're scum.

Omg, that’s terrible what this poor girl went through! I recall being bitten by ants as a child & I was crying my eyes out, yet this sweetheart just looked so done with her whole situation. So glad Feliciana was rescued in time, as that heartworm would’ve surely killed her. Hope she finds a family that will baby her for the rest of her days, because she deserves happiness after such a cruel start in life. 😢💖🐕

Absolutely heartbreaking 💔 I wish I could go get her right now. I'm from California my aunt actually has a pit bull rescue herself in our small town of Atascadero. I know all to well the sad side of animal abuse. I grew up on a ranch and loved all animals, seeing this baby like that makes my heart hurt. ❤️ if I wasn't so far away in Alaska I'd come adopt her.
