My younger dog died two weeks ago suddenly, mine older one is now near her end due to mast cell cancer. 10 years and so much…😞 it’s finally reaching to the end…

my little 10 year old rat terrier Kyligh died 8 days ago. She started out breathing a little hard but had a VERY good appetite and drank water good and acted normal other than the slightly hard breathing. I took her to the vet and they did chest x rays. The vet said she was congested and looked like she was setting up bronchitis and placed her on predizone - seemed to help her and her breathing was closer to normal with spells of hard breathing - still excellent appetite and acted normal. over the next few days breathing got worse but STILL had excellent appetite etc... had another appointment with vet did another x ray and said it looked slightly improved but he wasn't happy that there wasn't more of an improvement. Scheduled a bronchial wash for the next morning. Still excellent appetite etc. but now was breathing noticeably harder would have to stop to catch breath walking from one room to another. Next morning took her for bronchial wash and when called to check vet said went good but was breathing hard and had her on oxygen and antibiotics. that evening vet called to inform me that Kyligh had just passed away and had never seen anything like it asked permission to remove a section of lung to be sent to lab. What threw me for a loop and why I had no idea it was really as serious was she kept a very good appetite up till the day she died and acted basically normal other than the breathing. It's never hurt so much as loosing this dog. Any ideas what this could have been? Said it could take up to 3 weeks for the results from the lungs to get back and I guess when all is said and done its not going to really help because its not going to bring her back.

@@John-lk7mg her lungs ended up being full of cancerous cells - not like a tumor just full of cancer was my understanding. The vet said he had never seen anything like the way it was with her. It was cancer but it acted like pneumonia. I still miss her terribly. 5 days from now will be a year since it happened.

My 8 year old Bullmastiff was diagnosed with a 9cm tumor in his lung on Friday. He has his first appointment with an oncologist on Monday. He is my whole world. 😞

I have an almost 13 year old bullmastiff and he only has a few days left. DM and mass on spleen which has apparently went to lungs. Trying to make last days as comfortable as possible with as much love

jimmy dean I lost my previous dog, a German Shepherd, to DM at 13. You’re very lucky to have had so much time with your Bullmastiff. Mine died less than a week after my post.

Hey Dr. Sue! My boy Percy a 6.5 year old Labrador retriever was diagnosed with osteosarcoma back in mid January and he received 4 doses of carboplatin since then and just recently (this morning) they discovered a small Nodule about 1cm in his lungs and my oncologist gave him some Vinorelbine. What is your take on this type of chemo? My boy is as happy as ever but I want to know your input in this chemo. I’ve heard great news about it in articles and success stories and Love your videos they’re very informative!
