Dog mountain biking to work in a Burley bike trailer!!

Zinc and I have been commuting 3 miles to work in the Scapegoat wilderness with a mountain bike and he rides in a Burley COHO XC trailer. The 1st 2.5 miles is not wilderness and we hike the last .5 miles (no bikes allowed in the wilderness).

Thanks! The gopro editing software does most of the fancy editing for you. Its pretty great in Montana!

How well does the trailer do on trails with your pup? I’ve been wanting to do this but some other reviews say the it feels unstable and that you can’t lean? Have you experienced any of this?

It was a definitely a learning curve (for both of us). Zinc (the dog) wanted to jump out when we started but he learned quickly that is was a bad idea. He is always shifting about for balance which shifts the weight around and makes it hard to navigate the narrow trails. That being said after doing 100+ miles on rough trails we are both really good and it now and its a ton of fun. You definitely can't lean into turns very much. It was very unstable feeling at the start.....it just takes time to learn. Oh and Zinc only weights 40 lbs...I'm sure a larger dog would be much more difficult!
