I truly hope this is as enjoyable for the animals as it is for our entertainment. performers may go through hell but they come out and put a smile on our face cuz The Show Must Go On but we never know what they're going through so I hope it's fun behind the scenes for these dogs.

Dogs don't fake emotions like humans do. These breeds (Australian Shepherds, Border Collies, etc.) thrive on this kind of training and engagement. My Aussie would be in heaven if I were willing to spend this kind of time and training with him. As it is, he's my coach...always coaxing me into playing some interactive game. Its what the herding breeds live for.

I have an Alaskan Malamute. The two best friends he ever had were BC's. They taught him,as a pup, how to herd and nip at the heels. Beautiful, intelligent dogs

Only my Gem used to nip me to get up so she could herd me. She was 1/2 BC. Blue Heelers and Corgi's are more likely to nip. My other Border Collies didn't need to nip me. They used their eyes or nudged me where they wanted me to go. BC's that do nip heels are those that tend to herd cattle rather than sheep as the farmer/ vet I got my Tess Siobhan from in '92.

Dakota, my Malamute, would make a poor bull. He would definitely be offended to be compared to a cow. Was funny though, as he grew larger, how the BCs didn't like being herded back. Miss those clever little charmers.

having a 10 month old border collie who can do some tricks (but not to this extent), I can appreciate the immense amount of time that would have gone into training all of these commands. My absolute favourite were the ones early on at 1.59 onwards where Skiffle moves around her in time to the music, and does it in reverse at times. So clever!

Oh Crufts, I am sorry I did not say it sooner. I am daft at times. Condolences on the loss of your dog. I have a Low Chen. She is 12 and she is pretty dang smart. I work with her and love her every single day. When she goes I will be broken. I will try and get another dog, but still we put so much love and time into our dogs. People say just go and get another dog. Yeah, sure and we will, but losing a BFF furry is a tough loss. A hard big pill and I feel your pain. My heart sits with yours on the loss of this tremendously brilliant furry Lucy Creek.

The training of this dog is absolutely amazing. The only thing I was able to train my Australian Sheppard Bandit along with standard commands was how to what we called prance ( walking on his hind legs).

We often have the classical music station on at my house, and the Birthday Waltz from Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty is often played. Whenever I was in the house near my dog I would scoop her up and “waltz” with her for the duration of the song. She loved it! Even though she wasn’t a big kisser, I was guaranteed a kiss for that.😊
