Oh my, I just brouhgt home yesterday a powder puff, 'cause I love the temperment. He's the exact same colouring as Captain. As a pet, I don't think I'm gonna groom him exactly like this. I've been grooming my toy poodles myself for 30 years.

Amazing video. So many good tips and lots of details. I have PPuff and absolutely in love with her. Very lovely character, playful and sensitive and stunning beauty! I love hairless and PPuff equally. My next one will be hairless. I want a playmate for her.

Thank you so much for the kind words! Yes I am truly blessed to have been able to work with Kay and get this filmed! And as a stalkery fan of this breed - if I didn’t go with chihuahuas I would have totally wet with cresteds.... I can only imagine how amazing it is to have your very own and hopefully plural!!!

How do you clean his teeth? They are pristine white. And they are the best for you! I purchased a puppy a couple years ago. She said it was a Maltese! Not. Instead I got this gorgeous little Powder Puff and we love her dearly.

I have one, she's a month younger than Captain. She (Delaware) is 90% perfect. She barks at noises outside sometimes, and she is a little bitey, although she's got a pretty soft mouth. But other than that, I couldn't ask for a better dog. I love her so much!

Nice work 👌 Can I ask how you trim the tail when it becomes frizzy and long. And If you like me grom ccpp as a HL. Can I also cut the top on head a little shorter in front so I don't need to use hair rubber band in the front. Had trim the man to make more full not frizzy and thin as it grows?

What a beautiful and well behaved pup! I am curious, how much do the powder puffs shed? Does their coat keep growing, or does it stop at a certain length?
@BestInShowBitch4 жыл бұрын
I have been told that they don’t shed. And the coat will grow to the ground. Some coat types are easier then others. And some very hairy hairless cresteds have mistakingly been taken for powder puffs and some owners are left wondering why their hair doesn’t grow longer.

My puffs undercoat is SO thick! Can it be thinned or removed somewhat? Honestly, You cannot get thru it! I've had to resort to a pony cut last May. Now the outer coat and under are the same length, ugh! He isn't shown because his ears would count him down, however, I'm very proud of him and want his grooming to represent his breed accurately. Because of how thick his coat is, he hollars while trying ro remove all the knots! What a predicament! Go easy on me, I'm an old lady, ha! Love the videos, this is my last dog. I've shown Siberian Huskies and Shetland Sheepdogs and done my own grooming.

This shows using tresemme shampoo & conditioner but all the research I’ve done says not to use human shampoo because of ph level differences. Can you explain?

How does that plucking thing at around 9:15 work? My powder puff looks a lot like this one, but her hair parts between her ears and goes straight forward if I don't use a band. Will plucking really fix that so her hair parts down the middle?

I have a Puff and I groom him once a week and he's in full coat . However his temperament is not so great .I've socialized him like crazy but he's very timid .Not nervous .And his worse trait of all is he Growls at people and dogs.Non stop .He's bitten me and a Child .He's just over a yr .So I wasn't expecting that sort of temperament with that breed .

How often should a powderpuff get a bath? Do they shed a lot or more similar to a Yorkie that barely sheds?
@BestInShowBitch4 жыл бұрын
I would assume similarly to the long coat Chihuahua, once a month would suffice. Of course unless they love to roll in the mud and such. If you’re showing them, on the regular like weekly. Puffs are like long coat chihuahuas as well where are they blow their coat instead of a constant shed. Yes, like Yorkies 😊 It’s usually once or twice a year. For females it’s always after they go out of season

does powerpuffs hair grows as yorkies hair? or their hair wont grow 'till floor?
@BestInShowBitch3 жыл бұрын
Tiffany said.... They are suppose to have coat “ moderate in length”. Some dogs are coat factories and it will grow way past the floor and yiu will have to trim them. Other dogs will not ever grow that long, but still have beautiful coat and proper

I enjoyed watching the hairless clip but I felt uncomfortable seeing the lady pulling out the long hair above his eyes. (We call it a fringe in the UK. I think you call them bangs?) In this clip. I would not like my hair to be pulled out like that. The clips are informative tho' so thanks for sharing
@BestInShowBitch4 жыл бұрын
I get what you mean. We do it with your hair here in the states as well. Not sure if you do that in the UK. It’s really not painful for them. I would say equivalent to us plucking her eyebrows?

What about the whiskers? Isn't it important not to shave them? There seems to be a difference of opinion about that.

Can you reply pls. I really love your videos! But im uncomfortable around curse words. For your title do you mean bitch as in female dog or ****** as the curse word? I would really like to know.
@BestInShowBitch4 жыл бұрын
Yes I did respond in your previous comment. That is exactly what it is meant to be....A female dog. It is not meant in a derogatory way in anyway. I’m very sorry that you find it offensive but for those in the dog world the word is used on regular basis and with respect. I did go back and forth when coming up with a name for my channel but because of the respect the word does get in the sport, I chose to go with it.
@BestInShowBitch4 жыл бұрын
I mean absolutely no disrespect to you and I do hope that you will stick around knowing that the word is used as a positive and not in a derogatory way. We have a lot of great information to share and I hope you can continue to join in the fun

I thought that you should use only dog shampoos, why use human shampoo with the bad chemicals in it? My power puff we shave shorter because we live in Florida and their coat gets hot and easily matted. Anyone else have this problems or issue using human products on your dogs?

Why do people shave powder puff chinese cresteds beards off? I personally think they look better with there facial furnishings :)

It is most definitely personal preference. Especially with your couch dogs. But when it comes to show you kind of have to follow what everyone else is doing and what shows the breed to the best possible
