The face brush is a great idea! I have a crested, xolo, and peruvian inca orchid. I am always looking for a way to deal with blackheads. I usually shave before a bath and didn't realize I was causing them to break out due to them being dirty while being shaved. Thanks for the tips!

They absolutely sweat in other places. Most hairless dog breeds do. I would also know because I HATE touching my crested after she's been running around outside in the heat. She's a sweaty dog and it feels nasty.

You are right. Mine do not sweat. Dogs only make sweat on their feet.

Not necessarily, mine sweats at the back of his neck when he gets a good workout. It likely varies by dog.

@@Kekira My Chinese Crested would sweat along her back you could feel it when she came in from outside. I live in Florida so it is much hotter here and she was black and loved to lay in the sun. It wasn't the oil that they produce either it would bead up like sweat.

I have a rescue. Believe it or not a lot end up in rescue and I absolutely adore mine! He is the sweetest dog I've ever owned. He's so cuddly and affectionate. He likes being pampered. I enjoy taking care of him from the clothes to the grooming and he does too. There are some downsides like house training can be a challenge. But I love their temperament. The other thing is they don't do well with young children. They are fine boned and can be nervous which can make them snappy. Other than that they are wonderful dogs!

I have a hairless, she hasn't had skin issues until recent. She's 3. It started When changed her dog food to a special diet due to a large amount of crstals in her urine. I'm thinking her skin break out is due to food. She on medication now but can't find a dog food she likes as well as the special food she was on. She's on Taste of Wild Salmon now but she really doesn't care for it. That's what she was on before the crystal in the urine. Just curious what dog food you feed your Cresties? Sorry not a grooming question. More of a skin care questions

Do they need a full bath every week? Wouldnt a sponge bath be enough for one two times then a full bath?

Our hairless Chinese Crested has a lot less hair than the ones shown. He's not and will never be a show dog -- he's our family imp and cuddler. He gets washed twice a week with shampoo from vet and his muzzle shaved but not right to the skin. His feet only have what we call "slippers" on top of them and a bit of hair in between his toes. He has an almost hairless tail -- very wispy. The lady who showers and washes them does it twice a week and uses a good quality human exfoliating paper(s). His ears are delightfully fringed and he has some hair on his head but not much. The big problem are the skin bumps and black heads which we're finding impossible to get rid of. He gets a good cream like Aveeno at the end of his bath. He wears t-shirts or doggie "onsies" that I got from Pet Valu. We live in Ottawa Canada and it gets very cold in the winter. he has sweaters and dog coats but when it gets really cold out -- he stays in. both he and his Powderpuff brother are puppy pad trained. Our Powderpuff Max loves the snow and walks in colder weather -- he has an undercoat and top coat. He hates brushing and kept getting ear infections so we now keep his hair almost poodle length -- he's much happier with not having knots brushed or cut out. He gets washed about once a week or every 10 days. He is white and grey with white feet and loves puddles etc. He sometimes comes home black to his belly and ends up with an extra bath. They are delightful but not as fond of grooming as the dogs shown. They go to a professional groomer every 7 weeks for nail trims and haircutting. Thank you for all the tips in your video -- our groomers had to look up Chinese Crested to find out how to groom and bathe them. Our hairless guy Justin loves going under covers and is way better than a hot water bottle.

Could you use something like salicylic acid to treat the black heads? You can use it on people for black heads I have used it for the past 2 years on my self for that reason but didn't use it on my Creasted because I didn't use it when she was still alive.

I agree with everything but the aveeno lotion. Aveeno has petroleum in it and that's not good for their skin. Lots of better lotions to use.

Dawn dish soap? Their shin is like human skin per vet, perhaps they look nice for a short time but Dawn dushwashing soap is the inncorrect ph, It's also way to drying. their skin like ours needs to be cleaned gently, moisturized & conditioned/lotioned, some people feel that the hairless should use sunscreen but vets vary on this opinion Dogs lick themselves so find a product that will be safe for your dog. Oh, my .😨
