I just found your channel and so happy I did. Thank you for all your useful information. We use kibble (Zignature + another brand that we change out) but rehydrate and add ground flax seeds, beet root, diatomaceous earth, turmeric (for the one prone to allergies), eggshells when available, pumpkin (and pineapple juice if eating poop is happening), and fish oil.

This is super cool! I am feeding my dogs a cooked but homemade dog food. And I am really considering doing the raw diet I think it’s the most natural and healthy for dogs! Thank you for all of you information in your channel!

How do you feel about people saying dogs are carnivores? My dogs food contains chicken (they are allergy tested) Egg organ meat and veggies as well as some supplements and I joined a GSD group on Facebook and people came after me when I commented on a post about feeding dogs they basically just said dogs should only eat meat and I'm like.......ummmmmmmm no
@HappyTailsAnimals3 жыл бұрын
Yeah totally agree with the ummm no. Dogs are not carnivores. They have been eating a variety of food next to humans for the last 10k years. They are a different species than wolves. The main portion of the food should be meat, but they need other food as well to be healthy. 😊🐶

They're falcutative carnivores! So yes a predominantly meat-based diet is what they require, however they also scavenge and eat things like berries and roots, and then of course as Meghan mentioned they eat the contents of their prey's stomach so that includes grasses, seeds etc. It's not harmful to feed them veggie matter like it is to cats and ferrets. People hear carnivore and think of only obligate carnivores but that's not all that's out there!

Omg I’ve been actually wondering about raw milk for dogs for a long time 😂 I was literally waiting like surely she’ll mention it. Do you think raw cow milk is good or to just stick with raw goat milk? I have both love your video and Clark is beautiful
@beanythompson14603 жыл бұрын
Stick to goat milk cow milk with give your dog the runs 💩
@HappyTailsAnimals3 жыл бұрын
I would not use cows milk, it's so much harder for the body to digest and takes a long time! Raw goats milk is easy to digest. 😊
@NicoleTMiller3 жыл бұрын
Okay, thank you
@margsimpson Жыл бұрын
Yeah cowsmilk isn't a good idea, many dogs don't have the digestive enzymes to digest the lactose and proteins in cows milk. Some can't handle goats milk either, but it is much easier for a dog to handle goats milk than cows. just watch out for problems and start slowly monitoring your dog's reaction. The thing with goats milk is its high in saturated fat, too much saturated fat can cause pancreatitis. Be mindful of what other fats are in your dog's diet if you are adding goats milk. The calories are high so you need to take that into consideration.

hey could u explain the benefits of garlic and how much dogs can consume? as I think it will clear alot of misconceptions and confusions!love ur vids!!

None. Garlic and onions are HIGHLY toxic. Dont ever give it to them.
@adeliinasallila985710 ай бұрын
Garlic contains thiosulfate that dogs, unlike us, can't metabolize properly. Thiosulfate causes oxidative damage to RBCs that might even lead to hemolytic anemia. And even if some studies suggest that the amount would have to be greater than 15g/kg, there's still not enough conclusive evidence of the benefits compared to the risks. And some dogs might be more sensitive than others. You should at least mention this aspect for someone to not to go too crazy with the dosing🙊.

I got the 5strands raw food allergy test for my 14 yr old pom and found that she was allergic to virtually EVERYTHING I fed her including chicken, beef, pork, hearts, liver, glucosamine, tumeric condroiten, cocoanut oil, salmon oil, sardines, eggs, yogurt etc. Now I have altered her diet and she rarely scratches. I have to make two separate batches because I have other dogs and cats. I just sent away for a second test for another dog. Fingers crossed.!!

Wow! That's a hard diet to work with. But I am glad it's working for you! What are you feeding her now?
@gail17762 жыл бұрын
@@HappyTailsAnimals She can have turkey and chicken thigh which is the only part of the chicken she can have but no bones. I use crushed egg shell but she can not have eggs. I add some mixed veggies. I have to make her separate turkey bone broth. If I can ever find beef liver, she can have that but no hearts. I'm not sure what else to add.

Dogs need meat. That’s literally all they eat plus a little grass. Why do people impose their human diets on animals that have completely different physiology.
@HappyTailsAnimals3 жыл бұрын
If your dogs are eating grass that is a sign of a problem with their diet. You seem to have a misunderstanding about their biological needs. Please revaluate how you are feeding.
