You can only play Quilboars if beasts are in the game, how lucky to get Rylak first turn on lvl 4

You can use Shudder or Jandice to get a decent amount of scaling on them too though

I have had good quils games without Rylak. It's not as obvious, but you can still get there.

Without beasts you can go high attack scaling blood gems and put them on divine shield minions, but it requires an early "Prickly Piper".

Don’t have to worry about attack power really. Health is MUCH more important. Reason being is break points. If you get a minion with high enough health to survive an attack then you have essentially doubled their attack.

On the other hand, if you have little enough attack the enemy survives their trade, you gave them essentially double attack. Its a 0 sum game. WHile having a 50001 Health guy against 50000 attack is of course preferable compared to the other way around, each point of attack increases your killing potential a lot more.

how the f do you play these Quilboars if you dont have rylak? You can basically only play it with beasts in right?

Most of the meta is either triggering deathrattles or battlecries (or both). Murk-Eye, Rylak, Titus, chicken is almost a part of any setup.
