To all Cubs fans: I'm a fifty year old, Red Sox fan that lived through Bucky Dent, Bill Buckner and Aaron Boone. I never thought my Sox would ever win another World Series, never mind four since 2004. My point, you never know how the passing of time will bring changes and tip the scales of dominance in your favor. I have all ways felt a kinship with Cubs fans based on the ridiculous droughts both fan bases had to endure. Now that the Cubs have won in 2016, you never know how many more are around the corner. Go Cubs!

Ryan Da man: I am a Huge St. Louis Blues fan. I Know how Cub Fans felt when they won the World Series. I felt exactly the same way when the Blues Won the stanley Cup. any Cub fan who was in St. Louis on the night of June 12 2019 would have felt like they were re-living the cubs ws victory night All Over again,

Let me explain what "Lovable Loser" meant. It meant you were a Cub fan no matter what. That it never occurred to you to switch teams. The Cubs were your boys no matter what. And they gave it their all game after game, year after year. As long as they played their hearts out and gave it 100% you stuck with them and just waited and waited for them to put it all together and finally win it all. That is what it meant: we loved our Cubs no matter what and damnit some day it's gonna happen. And then it did. On Nov 3, 2016. My 58th birthday.

Thanks for rooting for the world’s greatest losers..We appreciate it..I was a magical season that could’ve easily fallen apart when Madden brought in Chapman and left him in waay to long..That would’ve been a typical Cubs FAIL that might have been suicidal for some fans..This year they’re not just losing for draft picks..It really doesn’t work the same as the NFL or NBA..
@willm30272 жыл бұрын
@@franzdoreza5230 definitely a magical October. Oh well I think baseball has been evolving and I don’t see the Yankees winning it within another 10 years sadly. There’s a lot of stubborn teams not wanting to let go of their old ways. Hopefully you guys find the right mix around the board.

My dad was in the Army so in my early childhood we moved around a lot. I started getting into baseball at 6 in 1960, but had no team to root for. We were stationed in Fairbanks, AK for the next three years, so I rooted for the Yankees, my dad's team (he was from Queens). When we got to Chicago in 1963, I immediately became a Cubs fan, and still am diehard to this day. I've met Ron Santo and Ernie Banks - during their playing days - watched Fergie pitch against Bob Gibson and have so many memories that I will cherish for my entire life. Go Cubs, go! Cheers....

When I was growing up, my favorite sport was association football, or as it's commonly known in the U.S., soccer. Not baseball. And I was such an insufferable contrarian, that I *had* to let *everyone* know I wasn't a fan of baseball. As I got older, I got more and more cynical, to the point where I was acting as if baseball had personally affronted me. Then the Cubs won the World Series. With that, I got a much closer, more personal look at just what this game *means* to so many people. I softened to it, and eventually made peace with it. Although I still wasn't a fan, the mere existence of a sport that I didn't watch no longer bothered me. After a few years of watching cricket, a British bat-and-ball game most popular in England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and the Indian subcontinent, I finally decided to give baseball a chance. I was hooked when I realized I'd watched five whole innings. Now, watching baseball is incredibly therapeutic. It helped get me through a *rough* ordeal last year when I was stuck in a horrible job I hated, and my very first year as a fan was capped off when my team, the Washington Nationals, won the World Series. I've only been a fan for a year and a half, but I feel like baseball has always been part of my life. And I have the Cubs to thank for that. They may not be *my* team, but they have a special place in my heart, because they're the team that brought me to the dance.

Although living thousands of miles away I was deeply touched that night. And thankful for having seen a Cubs game in Wrigley some years ago, because I was able to feel what the WS meant to that ballclub. Funny story: After having seen a Cubs game in 2011 and having returned to Hamburg a colleague of mine (not being into baseball at all) asked me: "So, did they lose?" Apperently the Cubs and their fate were pretty famous in a total baseball diaspora.

I was thrilled for Red Sox fans who also waited quite a long time..not nearly as bad as the Cubs..But it was great for them..I also was happy for KC when they won the World Series too..Cubs fans really don’t care about hating the White Sox or the fans, but the White Sox fans certainly have the middle child mentality because they feel disrespected..But I really don’t care and I did root for them because I really liked there team about 20 years ago..

There's nothing loveable about the White Sox. They're a bitter, jealous fanbase whose team literally threw a World Series before they won one. I think the most pure example of the White Sox fanbase, was a banner I saw while watching the 2005 world series, that took a shot at Cubs fans. I mean, what kind of fanbase waits 49 years to see their team in a World Series, and uses that moment to take a shot at fans of a team that isn't even involved?
