One old loyal Cubs man way in a coma and in hospice during the World Series. But his daughter would go to his room and tell him the results of every game. Right after they won, she went to his room and told them they finally did it. He passed away only a few hours later. Probably died the happiest man on earth that day. #truecubsfan

I was born, raised and still reside in the state of Kentucky. In 1981, my family signed up for cable television. One of those channels, just happened to be channel 24, WGN out of Chicago. WGN aired most of the Cubs game. I was hooked, almost immediately. I've been a cubs fan since 1981, and winning the 2016 World Series is beyond words. To this day, I almost still can't believe it.

I was not born into being a Cubs fan. I grew up in Nebraska. My Mom was an all around sports fan. All she really watched was sports and soaps. Her mom and most of her siblings were/are huge Cardinal fans. (They had a very friendly rivalry ) I grew up with my parents being Royals fans. KC was only 2 hours away so we went to at least one game a year and we got KC stations so she could watch the games. Then in the mid-80's we got WGN and that is when she became a Cubs fan. She still loved the Royals but the Cubs were her team. But she liked baseball so much she even like the Braves because she could watch them on TBS when the Cubs were not playing at the same time. She died in 2012 so she did not get to see them win.

I am a die hard Cincinnati reds fan.. but this doc is amazing..it capsulates everything that is special about baseball...I remember my grandpa used to work 3rd shift..I would go visit during the summer...no matter how tired he was , he always found time to pitch to me..to talk... about the reds.. about life... he put the love of baseball in my heart.. the love of the reds... latter in life I chose to rebel to live the party life...he was extremely disipointed in some of my decision... we would drive back to Columbus from the small town he lived in .. some of those ride's were tense... with some pretty intense conversations ... but eventually the conversation always ended up about the reds...no matter how distant we became..we always had that common ground... when the reds win the world series again...I will be at his grave also.... to some people this may sound crazy... but not to me...and not the people in this documentary....GO REDS... GO BUCKEYES

if you grew up anywhere near Chicago, you knew what this would mean. We might've lived on the South Side, Sox territory, but we were Cubs fans. Every single year, I would watch to see how far the Cubs would go, and every single time they lost I would say "I am not dying until I see them win". I was at school in San Francisco when the news came out that they made it to the playoffs, and for the first time, I allowed this little bit of hope. Maybe....maybe this time. My friend called me crazy, and I couldn't blame her. They NEVER won. When the last game went to the 10th and a rain delay happened, i almost started praying. And when they won, I screamed. I called my mom. my roommates at the time thought I had gone insane cuz none of them knew the story, none of them were from Chicago. I still see that joy every day, almost two years later. there's not a day that goes by that I don't see SOMEONE wearing blue, the bar across the street flies the W, and we're still celebrating.

My dad brought us up to be Cubs fans, he cursed at them and praised them but I got to watch the last 4 innings with him and we saw the Cubs win the World Series together. He passed away 5 months later.

When you have to fast forward Bartman and the World Series homer by Cleveland because it still makes you sick to your stomach you know you were raised a Cubs fan. My mother used to watch the games from the top of the stairs because she thought it may help them win the farther away she was from TV. She, like so many others, never lived long enough to see her beloved cubbies win, lots of cheering in heaven that day!

I was watching from outside a bar in Delray Beach fl. Alot of people became Cubs fans for that moment I know I did.

Ok, ya had me from the beginning. I'm 60, my Grandfather , who died in 2011 at age 92, was a WWII veteran and a Cubs fan should have gotten a visit from his grandson to tell him that the cubs got the "BIG W" . I'm sorry Granddad, I missed that one. And I miss you. Love you and miss you too grandma.

"I think I blacked out" Yep, I remember the night and about an hour after, but I don't remember the last play or anything but just crying, laughing, and hugging.

As a neutral fan, given the circumstances, it was the greatest game I have ever seen, and it's extremely unlikely it'll be topped

I remember when I went to class the next day nobody could even begin to focus, everybody was on an adrenaline rush talking about the big win. They should have just cancelled all class that day being in the Chicago area and all.

The sad side of this is the fact that Cleveland's fans have pretty similar stories, and they just had to watch yet another heartbreaking loss.

I read comments of Cubs fans getting emotional. I am an SF Giants fan and I get emotional watching this. Why? Not because the 2016 Cubs eliminated the Giants on the way to the WS. I was mad the night it happened, but now I almost feel honored that my team was a part of the Cubs historic journey. So...not crying out of anger that the Giants lost. I get emotional because I know how it feels to finally break through. I get it. Cubs fans deserved 2016 just as much if not more than Red Sox fans deserved 2004, and White Sox fans deserved 2005, and my fellow Giants fans deserved 2010. That moment when you break through and the euphoria that goes with it is only understandable if you've been through it with your team. Great documentary, and what a great team Theo and the Cubs management put together in 2016.

I'm a life long Chicago area resident. I liked the Cubs certainly but was never a die hard fan of any sports team. I hardly had the time or energy. In my lifetime I had a chance to see every Chicago team win at least one championship. Though I'm not a Sox fan I was happy for them and their fans when the won it all. I saw Michael Jordan and Patrick Kane bring home numerous titles. I experienced the Superbowl Shuffle. Again, I was never a die hard fan of any sport. That being said, I can say without hesitation that the final out of game seven was without a doubt one of the happiest moments of my earthly life.
