Thank you Feathered Serpent. I am concerned that the medium will be self-destructive: by that I mean that ten years from now everyone will have moved to a different delivery system, and this "history" will be lost.

thank you for this compendium of material on the dogon of mali. when i was 19 years old, i saw a dogon weaving in a display at kroeber hall at berkeley as i took a short cut to get to my literature class on time. it stopped me in my tracks and i stared for a long time. since then, i have seen many dogon works, including the great mask, gogolia, that griaule brought to the musee de l'homme. it is some of the most profound art i have ever experienced. again, thank you for this wonderful overview.

I am happy you enjoyed it and found it helpful. I like Hopi weaving as well. How about you?
@ChristopherRoyJamesCook17687 жыл бұрын
I love Hopi weaving. Yes, it appears it was Hopi men who taught Navajo women to weave after the Pueblo uprising. I could tell by your last name you were familiar with the Mesas. I teach American Indian art as well as African art. Have you watched my video "Men's and Woman's Weaving in Africa"? Does your relative only sell to Hopi?
@egyptnepthys51776 жыл бұрын
Christopher Roy a shame that you teach African art and you know very little truths about the Dogon system. That story at 31:00 was all lies. You are an imposter.

WoW! This reminds me of the Hopi people. Excellent video

Yes, I agree with you. Isn't it wonderful how such different people, with no contact ever, seem to have found the same solutions to similar problems.

yes! I'm watching again..i'm learning/understanding things. Apache, Chihuahua, all these tribes all over earth are in sync.I'm stunned, and so happy to learn this. I'm thinking to myself..this is how you live together as human beings..in community..celebrating all living things/beings..each other. I love learning about the apache because of a dream..and now look where it has taken me! I'm thinking that if white people new their true indigenous roots we would not be searching for all these answers today. Incredible..beautiful

Such a beautiful culture. Thank you for sharing. Watched other documentaries about them and this one shows us more about their stunning culture. Also...their extensive advanced knowledge of science and space before modern science also blows my mind, astounding . They seem to have such a simple looking life I think their ancestors as well themselves are the most extraordinary people.

The deceased tools pots or personal items are broken to prevent them from being corrupted , not to break ancestor ties. Ancestral ties are never broken. More proof this guy doesn’t know what he is saying.

Mr. Christopher , do you have any video about the production of glass beads in Africa ?
@ChristopherRoyJamesCook17688 жыл бұрын
No, I am sorry. I wish I did. You could take a camera to Bida in Nigeria or CAmeroon and make a video.

Yes, the people who think the Dogon came from outer space are foolish. Or do you think they came from Sirius B? BTW, it is "narrator."
