RayJayRob How are their behavior with each other? I have 16 month old chocolate lab and i am plaaning to add a yellow lab next year but still undecided on gender. i have no plans of neutering my lab. My dream is to have all the 3 colors of lab bt i want them (Us) as a pack with no aggression to each other.

Koto Nizna They all get along very well. I've never seen them be aggressive or get mad with each other. There is some friendly play fighting but never any growling, barking or biting when playing. I think they get along so well because my brother got them when they were puppies and grew up together. Plus Labs are very well mannered dogs. It doesn't take a lot to raise a well behaved lab. Just some love. The thing I love about them is that they sleep next to each other at night all the time. It shows me that they are close to each other.

I grew up with 2 labs Jake and Angel. Jake was such a little devil he would always sneak into our pool swim around and come back up the stairs in the summer. He would even dive down in the water. Man he was the best. Both of them was. Absolutely love labs!

My younger brother Patrick and I got a black Labrador retriever pitbull mix named Maggie from the Oregon humane society back on June 22nd 2013 she was 9 years old and we had her for 5 wonderful years until August 20th 2018 when she passed away she was 14 years old back then 😢💔

Had one,her name was Sydney and it will be a year we put her down on Monday.She was a good dog and was 17 years old.Blind and deaf,could not hold when she had to go potty and get up anymore.Buried in the back yard near her favorite tree.Sydney was a black lab

I've only seen English Labradors being the only labs to be the color white. There are actually labs that are pure white and can stay that way up until they are a senior or until they pass away.

There are rescue organizations for every breed. just google the "labrador rescue" in your area, and there will be one. the cost of adoption is minimal and you will be saving a dog's life and giving them a loving home.

I lost my black lab mix name shadow. He was my jogging partner and my best friend. It was like I could talk to him about anything and he'd understand or something. He also loved to swimm and play on water anfter getting hit by a car, he had to be put down. vets couldn't help.. It was hard to see him. (Stupiedst question was if I wanted to see my best friend die) I couldn't stand watching him go away and left. Still hard. now looking for another lab.

Silver Labrador Retrievers are just chocolate Labrador Retrievers with the dilution gene. Labrador Retrievers do fine at home during the day, as long as you give them their daily 2 hours of exercise. After they receive that, they are fine to cuddle up on the couch with you and watch TV. If you can’t provide 2 hours of exercise for your dog every day, then you shouldn’t get a Labrador Retriever. My Labrador Retriever is 11-years-old and still gets a 2-hour walk every evening when I come home from work.

well, unless they grew one from out of the blue, it's most likely a mutation and therefore still by genetics a labrador retriever. I'm so use to there only being 3 coat colors, but... it would be interesting to have more - they're definitely pretty, esp the red fox, silver and white. I think they should be included at some point in the near future. The AKC is so snooty about some breeds. I'll never show dogs for that reason.

Check out the Belgian Malinois. They are high drive enough to satisfy your brother and make a excellent pet/personal protection dog. Any dog you get will need a high level of training and plenty of exercise. If you aren't prepared to invest much time and work then look for smaller calmer breeds. I have a Malinois and wouldn't own any other dog but every day is a training/exercise day. Even indoors the "work" never stops. Labs are less high drive so require less strenuous physical activity than shepherds or mals. You have to be realistic about how much time you have and WILL commit to a dog. All three breeds need at least an hour a day in high level activity/training sessions. Also be sure to research other breeds re their energy drive, physical needs, genetics, health, and above all else...their breeder. Backyard breeders are what keep our dog rescue and pounds full to capacity. Only go with a registered, recommended breeder who can provide a DNA history of their pups. It truly makes all the difference but also raises the price. With dogs you get what you pay for. If you do it right you'll have a wonderful experience for a long time. Good luck! :)

They will eat depending on how you have raised them,don't hold them back when they are very young (3-9 months) give them as much as they can eat,after that you can pour a bagful of food into their bowl,and they will only eat as much as they want,not as much as they can. I got 3 year old American Labrador Retriever,and his bowl is always full,he never eats too much and is in excellent shape,people tend to spoil them because they look cute,don't do it. Size difference is in genders,not the color.

There is no white labs,retrievers got 2 subspecies,American and English,in general,American is a bit taller,and somewhat slim,English version in general is slightly smaller and more ''buff'' so to speak. Both subspecies come in 3 colours,black,chocolate brown,and beach sand yellow,while at very young age he might look white,the colour will adjust if its a purebred as he grows up. Not sure about the character differences,if there are any between american and english ones.

I enjoy doggie footage online. They continuously make me chuckle. But a large amount of pet owners are slowly KILLING their dogs. The junk that they put in dog food causes cancer and tends to make dogs pass away early. I came to understand the challenging way when my pooch passed away aged 7. The lab as a breed is extremely docile and very loving which is why they are favored among families. Labs do have a high exercise requirement and like all dogs need to be socialized. Occasionally when those needs aren't met they can turn into very dangerous animals. It's not common but to be safe you should train and exercise a lab just as if it was a more aggressive breed.

Well,then it's a defect,as i said,there are no pure-white labs. As for the hyperactivity,yes,american ones got that in bulks,i'd know,since i got one,the only time he is calm,and quiet is when he sleeps. Either way,i hope to god you don't live in an apartment,because this dog needs space,lots of it..either than,or he get fat,lazy and uncontrollable. Tho what i meant was more of physical appearance,not temperament,or character.

to declare a dog NOT part of its breed just because it has a mutation is ridiculous - because it doesn't have "traditional" markings or coat colors is dog racism and discrimination, LOL. LMFAO is more like it. Next, we'll be having them drink from different bowls. It's just a coat color. So there will be 3 traditional colors and 3 or however many new colors. So what? It's not a big deal. It's okay to like tradition more, but don't discriminate, haha
