This is an amazing story. I've heard crazy stories of how dogs have saved lives. How they can be used for medical purposes. Therapy dogs that can help children sleep. Dogs can detect if a person has cancer. Today I heard about this program for helping diabetics. Ivr been diabetic since age 11 with a thousand+ bloodsugar in a coma. I'm now 39 years of age. They say dog is man's best friend but I think it's God's greatest gift. They can save people from loneliness. Detect if an infant has stopped breathing and alert the parents. Protect the family. I helped train my friend's dog from puppy to one year of age. Truly amazing creatures.

@Loulou Bos I'm talking in general. This one child I saw used to have seizures in his sleep but somehow having the dog in bed with him alleviated whatever was causing them. Parents felt the dog was a blessing sent from God. My childhood friend was blocked by a dog when he crawled out of the apartment. His parents told him what happened. Try getting a cat to do that.

I was diagnosed with T1D when I was eleven before a spring break trip, and we were going to Mexico for a few days, and there was this huge pool at the resort we stayed at near our hotel room. We went for a dolphin riding session soon after arriving at the Riviera Maya. We took a bus there and my glucose reading was 49. It had risen a little after our activity and I wanted to go swimming in the giant pool. My aunt agreed to take me there but about 20 minutes in I started feeling hungry so I got the shore, checked my blood sugar and it was only at 70. Not super dangerous or anything but needless to say, it would be a couple more years before my aunt stepped into another body of water with me lol

My husband knows that I need a #servicedog because I'm have Type I #diabetes and it's extremely dangerous to not know when my blood sugar drops, so I can relate. Good job young lady! 🤩

I'm type 1 diabetic and I have had a seizer a diabetic acoma, I slept for 3 days and ya, I want a service dog but I just bought one its just they haven't trained him yet so he's working on that! I named him Gilroy, he is a registered american black labrador retriever and he is 1 year old! :)

@@cajun6316 The exact cost will depend on the particular organization and training program selected. But on average, an investment in a Diabetic Alert Dog can cost anywhere from $8,000 to $20,000. There are non-profits that grant dogs for free and only require that you pay for your training with the dog.

@@pewicarlosandmarcosshow619 when I was three I went to my aunts house and I ate a snack and I got really sick so my mom rushed me to the hospital and they tested me and they said I was type one diabetic.

My paternal grandmother died from diabetes complications when I was 13yo. My grandpa who's my only living gramdparent on my mom's side has diabetes. My maternal grandma passed away when I was in late 30s. I hope I get diabetes and pass away soon. I miss my grandmothers too much.

If you dont mind me asking how old are you now. My son is 16 and has been diagnosed for 2 years now. I always like others inputs on how they have dealt with it. I stay nervous all the time but he has adapted very well. It is a life changing disease for sure. God bless you! 💜

Billie Eilish Fan type two diabetes is actually very different from type one. You can’t just say you want a service dog you actually have to need a service dog. Your doctor doesn’t have to to recommend it, but you can’t just decide out of the ordinary because you see one having a service dog. You have to know that it would benefit by doing a trained task for your disability. It cant just be because you want one
