My family lost our 10 year old border terrier named Pablo in december 2023, he had a bugling disc in his neck which was most likely pressing against a nerve that stopped him from breathing

A really good description of border terriers however while they are greedy, obesity is entirely an owner/management problem, as it is with any dog.
