Dogville 2003 Soundtrack- Change of Time- Pargolesi

Dogville is a 2003 Danish drama film written and directed by Lars von Trier, and starring Nicole Kidman, Lauren Bacall, Chloë Sevigny, Paul Bettany, Stellan Skarsgård, Udo Kier, Ben Gazzara and James Caan. It is a parable that uses an extremely minimal, stage-like set to tell the story of Grace Mulligan (Kidman), a woman hiding from mobsters, who arrives in the small mountain town of Dogville, Colorado, and is provided refuge in return for physical labor. Because she has to win and retain the acceptance of every single one of the inhabitants of the town to be allowed to stay, any attempt by her to have her own way or to put a limit on her service risks driving her back out into the arms of the criminals. Although she has no power in herself, her stay there ultimately changes the lives of the local people and the town in many ways.
The film is the first in von Trier's projected USA - Land of Opportunities trilogy, followed by Manderlay (2005) and to be completed with Wasington. The film was in competition for the Palme d'Or at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival[2] but Gus Van Sant's Elephant won the award. It was screened at various film festivals before receiving a limited release in the US on March 26, 2004.

Has Lars von Trier made other movies as this type please someone tell me. I watched some of his other works after I discovered Dogville. They couldnt hold a candle to Dogville. Melancholia was a big diappointment. Every minute of it was waste of time. I cant believe these two are the work the same filmmaker. Anyway. i would appreciate if anyone could tell me here whether he or any other filmmakers have made similar works. Rich narrative and less action

The second american film of Von Trier, "Manderlay" is litterally the sequel of Dogville, in which the character of Grace come into a coton plantation. This film also take place in a claustrophobic atmosphere and Von Trier also use a voice over with narrative chapter, you should love it! Yet this film was a big commercial flop! At first Von trier wanted kidman to keep the role of Grace but she was on another project at the time. For me Manderlay doesn"t come close to Dogville depht and brightness but it's still a good "illustration" of human being and of course America... I was really disappointed by Melancholia too, and some of his others works... But I think Dancers in the dark is another masterpiece from Von Trier (my favorite), as long as you can handle Björk and her music.
