Just a tip that works for me. When shipping a framed print with glass front. You can put masking tape just on the glass ( over the whole surface). So if it would break in shipping it would minimize the breaking of glass and minimize the chance of damaging the print. I used to do this when I shipped prints at the Museum I worked for.

I'm curious, how does one then remove any adhesive residue from the glass?
@kennethkulp77345 ай бұрын
@@pamprier4710 The tape is not on that long so it should not leave residue. If it does for some reason, I recently found a great way to get it off. Citrus Magic; Orange Blast is a room air freshener that you can get at Lowe’s . If you spray this on a paper towel and then wipe the spot the adhesive residue will come off. I would not spray the glass directly you would not want the spray to run into the print. So make sure you spray the paper towel. This works well on most non-porous surfaces like glass and some glazed ceramics.

Simple. Use Frog tape or blue painter's tape. Releases with no, or minimal adhesive residue.

25:12 The design of those earrings is an Irish Claddagh. According to Wikipedia, “a Claddagh is a traditional Irish ring in which a heart represents love, the crown stands for loyalty, and two clasped hands symbolize friendship. The design and customs associated with it originated in Claddagh, County Galway. Its modern form was first produced in the 17th century.”

I've moved to listing higher end, and reselling "death pile" in yard sales. The clutter drives me nuts. I hoard tools like they're gold though. There's a ton of money to be found in jewelry. Takes some dedication. Nice niche fill by Kayla. You guys rock as a team.

I LOVE selling discontinued perfumes. They sell for bank. I usually picked them up anywhere from $1-$5 and they sell from $25-$80. EASY to store,easy to list and easy to ship! Definitely in my top 3 favorite things to sell.

15:29 I have bought maybe 8 Blue Boxes over the past few years. It’s been about 6 months since I bought one. I have gotten a couple of small gold items and 2 Tiffany pieces. Overall, the boxes have been worth while. One box was complete junk and not worth what I paid, but all of the other boxes have been profitable.

Best way to detangle is yo undo all clasps and then shake stuff loose. If you have a knot in a very fine chain, use sewing needles to start opening the knot and then use toothpicks to open the knot enough to free it.
@catherinemcneill70456 ай бұрын
It seems to just fall apart when you pick it up, but it was never my favorite thing to do either. Fine gold and sterling chains are the hardest. I have used straight pins to separate knots in the past. Your box of things look great and know you'll use parts and pieces to make great things. In fact, my tassled aqua/cream bead purse piece was from this box. Amazing what you create! Good decision not to sell lesser pieces and long storage. Purchase and flip is the key. So glad you were ble to go fishing - love to fish! Cat

Stopping at 1:10 in to give a piece of advise to anyone selling framed art. I have done custom picture framing for the past 25 years, my advise.... always store, carry, and ship framed artwork face to face or back to back. Why? The wire or other hardware on the back of frames will dig into and damage the face of the frame behind it. This can easily be avoided by storing them with either their backs together or the fronts together. Also - always clean the glass by spraying the cleaner onto a cloth - not onto the glass of the frame. Glass cleaner sprayed onto the glass in a frame will flow under the glass, get between the art and glass, and thus damage the artwork.

Question - I remember, from a previous video, you saying that you are getting away from using bubble wrap and moving toward using paper for shipping. Does that coincide with wrapping items in Saran Wrap? Is there less breakage that way? Would love to see a “how we ship” video. Thanks for another great video.
