Cool idea. As far as Gentle Alien, remember it also comes with a power boost of 5% damage and some health. I've gotten to the point it's an instant purchase any time I see it, it's definitely worth. I would recommend either buying or just unlocking it and moving on, though, as it's bad to keep something locked for multiple waves as that's all lost potential to get one of the awesomely powerful game breaking items.
