One might say that now, Less is More... lol Sorry for the bad joke, but on a serious note this was very surprisingly well-done. The main attraction to colony sims and sandbox games, for me, is literally this. That if you put a little work and imagination into it, you can generate stuff like this - stories that are arguably better than the campaigns of most AAA titles. I love all these stories built off of playthroughs of Rimworld and DF and the like. That's obviously not to give the game(s) all the credit - you are certainly a very talented writer, and your narration is very well-done.

Sandslasher escaped with his teleport power, and for awhile was nicknamed "Stubby"--until he was able to get a couple of bionic hands or simply regrew them. Seriously though, great concept and great story. An unlikely "Hero's Journey", is what I considered it. I admit that I'm pretty curious about Sandslasher's and Master Carter's Xenotypes; were they Sanguophages? I thought Sandslasher was an ordinary Impid, but he seemed to have a couple of the vampiric powers. That last bit at the end would lead me to believe that "Carter" had been brought back, or rose again on his own. Sanguophages are immune to disease, so Carter dying from the plague seems unlikely. All in all, I see excellent potential for a sequel to this, something quite dark. Good work!

I really appreciate the thought you put into that. I bent the in-game rules a little bit by making Sandslasher both a vampire and impid, however, he will be more fleshed out when the sequel comes around. He certainly gives me some Darth Vader vibes with the bionic arm idea 🤣 As for Master Carter, his story is still a mystery. But you're right, he couldn't get sick, so he went into the ground for some reason. Whether it was by choice or not remains to be seen. I can't wait for the sequel to be ready for you all to enjoy!

I like how you actually breathe life into the story, the pawns can be somewhat dead if you look surface level. Which, if you remove their organs for profit and torture them for fun like I, is a requirement to avoid self-hating thoughts fueled by remorse for data-fueled pixels on a screen.
