Doing my own hair because these prices are OUTRAGEOUS

I was tired of doing my hair weekly but I didn’t want to cut it again. So I considered getting it professionally done. After the braiders told me their prices, I dipped and decided to do it myself. To me, it was good enough that I sported it in public for the rest of the week. But definitely not gonna do that time consuming hairstyle again anytime soon
Cheapest price I heard - $50 for 5 cornrows. No added hair. Hair doesn’t have to be blow dried if it’s already detangled
Most expensive - when the lady casually told me some number around a hundred. Like what?! Nahhh I dipped

put that hair in cornrows more thats one of the best ways to grow your hair, my momma keeps putting my hair in cornrows now it longer and healthy.

girl i’m in the same boat, trying to learn how to do my own hair too, it’s ridiculous how much they charge and expect us to have it blown out 🤦🏽‍♀️ and want a deposit, nobody got it like that nomore, i stopped going to my braider because she didn’t do my braids the way i wanted i was a loyal customer to her for a year but she wanted to charge a redo and take down fee when i told her i was unhappy so that motivated me to start doing my own, i got a doll and i learned how to cornrow, now i’m trying to learn how to do braids , keep practicing don’t give up 💕

Practice make perfect, keep practicing your hair enough to grab and two strand twist or braid . You need something to moisturize your hair and scalp. Keep braiding or twist and moisturizing. It will get longer. You’re doing right trying at frist to do your own hair.

I normally just do 2 strand twists but I wanted to try something new and try flat twists lol

Look for a very good hairdresser that don't blow dry your hair or you can lock your hair up baby you have great texture of hair 4C it looks like not sure but you have healthy hair no split ends no bald spots just a nice TWA thick. Don't give up you got this❤

it looks good! using a gel like shine and jam will help to make it look neater, for stubborn 4c edges she is bomb edge control is soo good, keep practicing!
