People talk about the ‘trap’ and that word is so accurate. The roads doesn’t just trap you physically it traps you mentally! It limits you and traps you into believing you can only make good Ps a certain type of way. I did a 5 year bid in my 20s, came out went fully legit, went into tech and now I’m a home owner and i clear 6k a month after tax. Certain man are still stuck in that mental trap doing the same ish until their luck runs out

It all depends on which area you want to go into. I started the traditional route doing 1st/2nd line support on the help desk and the comptia A+ is a good certification to get you started on the basic fundamentals of IT. Once you get your foot in the door the possibilities are endless in terms of specialising, it honestly depends on what sparks your interest. I fell into SQL admin/dev and that became my bread and butter before I decided to go into cloud computing and became a solutions architect. The real money in tech is when you go into contracting that’s where the big bucks is. My advice is to learn the basics like desktop support, system admin, basic networking and cloud computing (AWS or azure) then you can decide which area to go in. If you don’t want to be too technical you can go into tech project management but if you are a brain box you can pick up a language and go into coding. There’s also new technology like AI and machine learning (sign up for a Microsoft account there are good free course materials on there) KZbin is also your friend In terms of criminal record I have 2 spent convictions for aggravated robbery and violent disorder meaning I don’t have to declare them. However if the job requires an enhanced criminal background check it’s a no go for me. It all depends on the nature of the business but there are plenty of jobs out there that don’t require an enhanced level of vetting. All the best lads 💪🏾

It's not as simple as get a job, when people who have come from real situations or lived in a real environment. To get disrespected or treated like shit by managers who would never chat to you a certain way outside of the protection building or company it's hard. Its called the "trap" for a reason once you get in too deep its extremely hard to come out and if you do manage to come out best believe you've had to pay some sort of price leaving you with ptsd. Jumping on the roads is the weakest move ever as well as sheep mentality... Its much harder to sit down think about what you want to do with your life that rewards you with pride money and not looking over your shoulder, make a step by step plan even if it takes years, dont give up when things are hard and when you've got people saying "your never gonna make it" etc etc or when you see people on the roads making quick money n cars but not showing you the heavy price that comes with. So like i said jumping on the roads is weak and IF you do you jump on it for a short time with a clear exit plan in mind and you dont let your ego control you resulting in you being bait and telling this and that person what your doing. Keep your mouth shut move quiet get in get out

Doing road point blank is bummy regardless of age. Anyone who’s ever pushed anything would know it just aint it hence y everyone is just tryna make bread and cut quick. Sad that a lot of people get stuck in it and turn it into their whole personality and some drag it till old age. But nothing glamorous about it to be saying its bummy to be on road when older and not younger too ygm. Think we need to reevaluate our priorities and principles.

What I don’t appreciate is say you go to jail as a young man and you come out. Even if you change your life completely, you can never get a good job Cus it’s on your name that you went jail. How you expected people to change if you don’t let them. Dont get me wrong people have done it but minus rappers or people who used that dirty money to change its like 1/10 convicts who make it. I think it should only show on your name when your a rapist, pedophile or a murderer. But a kid who sold a little bit of weed to make a better situation for himself shouldn’t have to suffer for the rest of his life.

The headline here is childish to me. If J Gang feels that for himself, fine but he can't say that for anyone/everyone else. Thats for them to decide. Me personally, i never involved myself in none of it. I always seen it as wicked and evil, im not that obsessed with materialism and tbh, im not trying to go jail and be around men like that. All of this is a me thing though. My people whove been in different circumstances have resorted to that life there.

@@realtalktrustories6480 I think he’s referring to the HEADLINE “Doing Road in your 30’s is bummy”. Also I see you comment saying he wasn’t calling Stardom bummy but the title definitely suggests that you are whether you were talking about him or not. Looks like a statement for all in that category!

Ain’t no better feeling than coming from the roads finding something that suits you in the legit world and working your way up. Making you’re family proud and even passing on your trade or skills learned to you’re kids. When you do road all you’re life you’re mind stays as a child. You can be the best trapper make all the money but you’re mindset stays trapped and that feeling of looking over you’re shoulder and just being paro every-time you step out is not worth it.
