Great video! Which wheels have you put on the curfboard (size and hardness)?

Well great video as always mate! but dont you think the waterborne set up that u have its a bit weird? that mix of trucks makes the perform really bad... Im wondering why you choose that combination penny trucks (small) large ones independent in the back? that's a guarantee wheel bite!
@MrAboolayu2 жыл бұрын
Yes, waterborne is good one for surf skate, not bad like this

Hi shane~ i enjoy watching your video One question is, what size wheel base do you like? As a beginner of surf skates, I chose a product with a 20 inch wheel base. What do you think?

btw Waterborne adapter does work very good with a more regular set up, I manage to do the infinity loop pretty comfortably in a 7.8 inches regular street skateboard with waterborne adapter (no rail adapter, only wood planks) and regular trucks + soft penny wheels. so yeah, maybe those trucks you chooses with the waterborne arent a good choice for infinity loop btw the video was very interesting, thanks for sharing
@shanelai2515 Жыл бұрын
The smaller the wb , the easier the infinity loop generally. The longer the wb, the more precision needed for bodyweight shifting. The rail adaptor dampens the ride and makes it less reboundy, hence why the energy loss was very significant. Also there is a lot more tuning to find the right hardness to prevent wheelbite, if some rides like me (wanting extra lean)

@@shanelai2515 thanks for the explanation! that surfskate I made is my second skateboard ever and I will try some different setups like you as I get some money to buy more stuff

@@shanelai2515 also letting u know that Ichanged the penny wheels for a 70mm 80a wheels and now it’s even easier to pump/ infinity loop! may I ask u a question? if I am using a regular street skate setup, would you suggest me to buy longer trucks or bigger deck? (my deck is 7.8 and I am 6feet)
@shanelai2515 Жыл бұрын
@@Prisoner for surfskating, generally longer wb is desired. Somewhere around 17" give or take 1 or 2" depending on height. Popsicles are 14.5" max. Way too short to make the most out of 'regular' surfskating. My suggestion is get a bigger and wider deck. Something aroun 17" wb and 9" wide

@shanelai25152 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's right. You lose a bit of rebound though
@victor-emmanuel74852 жыл бұрын
@@shanelai2515 Thanks! I've been thinking about getting one but still haven't pulled the trigger. Hesitating between a Yow or a Swelltech.... Do they perform simillar on flat ground (in the sense of generating and keeping up momentum)? The Swelltech right now is more enticing to me as I'm a surfer and really want to work on my technique and zen out while trying to master something rather challenging. Yet Yow seems more durable, aesthetically pleasing, popular, more readily available and less obscure.

I mostly skate outdoors cause I don't have a garage. I find it hard to do the kind of tight infinity you do with 65-70mm wheels. Do the smaller wheels you use in the garage help? Or is it just my immature form? 😀

The wheels should not affect the 'pumpability' of the board.
