@@JhustineProvido Air Cooling though is a different story. Water Cooling isnt just about noise but also when you do a custom loop you have substantially higher volume to saturate before reaching equilibrium. Generally with air cooling up to a point the faster you can pass air over the heatsink the better, a quieter fan may be pushing less air over the sink which = less cooling.

My ps5 model cfi-1200b bought today comes with the nidec version 3 fan, and I'm satisfied with the noise it makes while I'm playing, It doesn't distract me from the game, I rate the sound the fan makes as "acceptable", On a scale of 1 to 10 I give it an 8 for silence, But since I am a demanding person, I am going to change the fan for one that is level 9 or 10 in terms of silence, But I repeat, I am not disappointed with the Nidec version 3 fan, it performs decently in relation to the noise it makes while I am playing, So don't be frustrated if you get a Nidec version 3 fan, everything will be fine 👍

2 Big thumbs up 👍👍was very helpful I just bought a PS5 with a lot of ps5 games and accessories and 2TB heatsink internal storage and 2TB external storage and definitely just now I ordered the Delta cooling fan...I'm really excited thank you.

Seriously compared to last gen even the loudest variant is a blessing. This is a bit exaggerated but I guess the option is there for those who want it.

When I first got my PS5 months ago it was loud as'f with coil whine, but after they released some updates for games and the system it's quiet, like you can't hear a single sound whether it be digital, disc, PS5 game, etc.

That’s good to hear

Coil whine is something that can't be removed through software updates. However, in some cases coil whine can disappear after the component has been used for a while, which might be the case for your console!

Yeah, I almost went back to PS4 because it was so bad, but now it's quiet and doesn't get on my nerves. 😂

Can't hear the fan in the first place. But that's probably because I don't constantly sit right over it and putting my ear next to the vents. Like a normal person, I sit xx metres away and my sound system is loud enough to cancel out any fan noise. Same with my PC that has 6 120mm fans in them. Anyway, cool video and definitely worth the hassle if your fan is loud and is causing performance issues later on in its life cycle but otherwise I don't see the point. EDIT: I'm guessing I have the delta fan as I can't hear much at all when I'm right next to the console. Great tutorial video, thanks.

Trimming down a cheap light thin scouring pad and sandwiching between the fan and fan cover will filter dust extremely well without compromising air flow and can be cleaned regularly with little effort! And if you think this is not a good idea check the heatsinks right now and tell me you're pleased with what you find.

I got a PS five digital edition and my consul and is running good but I save this video when the time comes I will buy myself a fan to customize and install it. I’m glad I saw this video

I see so many comments about how good the quiet fan cools, airflow etc. In reality, since all fans were designed to cool the PS5 sufficiently (which they all do just fine) cooling and airflow considerations are void. Noise during play however is important and the Delta fan will provide the quietest result.

I think it also depends on how you have it. Horizontal or vertical. I think vertical is ideal. When I had it sideways. I would hear the disk drive every now and then

I actually use a usb fan that attaches to the back. It’s kind of noisy, but it keeps my console running significantly cooler. I have one of the newer models with the smaller heat sink. It gets pretty hot, heats up my bedroom a bit. The fan however helps.

I'm so amazed i can only hear the device operating i can't hear the air humming through the fan that means i really have to be up close to hear all of it...and since they say the original fan runs just fine that means the Delta fan should be outstanding🤷♂️ Again 2 Big thumbs up 👍👍

My question is does the quieter fan cool the system better or does it just spin slower. I really wouldn't care how loud it is because I care more about keeping it cool than how loud it is

Idk. Switching from a PS4 that sounded like a jet engine and felt like I could bake cookies on it to a near silent fan (in comparison) that doesn’t have any major heat spots (at least with the games and time I’m playing)? I have zero complaints.

Why would you pay extra $ just to swap a fan in order to make the system a bit quieter ? Can’t you just turn up the volume of it bothers you ? It’s supposed to be replaced if it’s broken. If it ain’t broken; don’t fix it; simple as that

I just turned on my ps5. I wanted to see how loud it is. I don't have a microphone to amp it with, so I just put my ear up beside the case on both sides. It's slightly louder on the side away from the disk drive than it is on the side with the disk drive but in both cases it's so quiet you barely hear it. And there is no other noise going on. I don't know which fan I have, but whichever one it is it's already quiet. Edit: just to make sure I'm clear, sitting on my sofa in front of my television with the TV muted and the PS5 turned on I can't hear the PS5 at all and I am no more than five or six feet away from the unit.
@thecustomconcern2 жыл бұрын
My PS5 is quiet as can be, doesn’t make a sound. But as long as it’s keeping it cool I don’t care how loud it gets as long as it’s keeping it cool because the reason I even upgraded to my PS5 is because my PS4 fan ended up breaking and it couldn’t stay cool.
