Little late to the party, but minor correction: Nectar Thick water does not have any actual nectar in it. That is what this thickness is called, and acts as a descriptor for the consistency. The other names for it Level 2 thickness or Mildly Thick. Other thicknesses include Honey Thick (Level 3/Moderately thick, also commercially available) and Pudding Thick (Level 4/Extremely Thick, not commercially available due to rarity). As you can see, referring to the thicknesses by their level doesn't help anyone (who isn't familiar with IDDSI) wrap their head around the consistency. As for actual ingredients, most commercially available thickened waters only have water, preservatives, and thickening agents (most commonly xantham gum), though a lot are flavored as well, because the thickeners have a tendency to have a bitter or metallic taste especially when not chilled. I doubt anyone will see this, but I've worked around dysphagia patients for years now, and I deal with thickened water daily.

@@bipolar_bsd_fan Haha, no I'm in my 20's. I work in healthcare, in the dietary department, and have for years. I watched the video because I recognized the product being used in the thumbnail. Trouble swallowing (dysphagia) and thickened beverages are just something I am educated in and decided to share on. There are A LOT of video with misinformation about thickened beverages, their usages, their ingredients, etc. (this one included) that could be cleared up with a google search, but most people won't; creator or watcher. That being said, I don't think there is anything wrong with people of any age watching slime video if it brings them happiness, no matter their occupation.

@@Fr0yo0l1smyl1fe None, actually! I'm not a school type. I learned most of this working at an entry-level job at a nursing home (SNF technically) and just asking a lot of questions. However, I do have a bit more knowledge than most in my job because my sister went to school to be a Speach Language Pathologist (SLP, or Speech therapist as most people know them), and this is her 100% her field of expertise (SLPs are the ones who test for and diagnose dysphasia, as well as other swallowing and speech problems). So she's been a huge inspiration for me to learn as much as possible! Because we work closely together, we talk a lot about this kind of stuff.

It’s xanthum gum, they make it for people who are at risk of aspiration (liquid going into the lungs.) Making the liquid thicker helps prevent that :) they also use a similar method for babies who have acid reflux, or adults too even, to help the liquid stay in the stomach and not go back up. I just randomly remembered u lol anyways here's the dare: Dare 1: fix an old slime but instead of normal boiling hot water put lotion in it also cut it into pieces Dare 2: add slime like products to slime like those Putty's that is used to clean a keyboard Dare 3: use school supply's that can make slime into slime like school glue and pen ink or chop the graphite into dust! Dare 4: attempt to make a slime like those professional slime makers! U can try to recreate one from a actual slime shop or use it kind of like a reference Dare 5: re-buy all the bad slimes or scam slimes and recreate them into a better one/version! When she said you never know if the black paint is gonna colour the slime completely black she is telling the truth. Once I put my black paint into my slime to I could make squid ink slime it turn dark blue, no matter how much black paint I but it was still dark blue. Like a super dark blue. Edit: thank you all for telling me why it might have been a very dark blue. I have learnt from my art teacher that black isn’t a colour and for black colouring is normally super dark blue, dark brown, and dark purple. So... nice 👍

Love that you brought up the purpose of the thickened water to help educate your audience! The “nectar” actually refers to the level of thickness. Different severities of Dysphagia require different levels of thickness, such as nectar-thick, honey-thick, and pudding/spoon-thick liquids. It makes me so happy to see education in a fun video like this!
