I remember a few months ago when your friend gave you all these toys to fix. Enjoy watching your methods of repair. I use to repair cameras for Polaroid, methods are some what the same. Tear it down to bare bones and find the bugs.

Looks like its coming along pretty good if you have some lock washers laying around id put them on the screws that hold the blade on they kept backing off on mine because of the vibration or loctite would probabily work too
@DoingItCheap6 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I will try the loctite when I get it running right !

A double barrel shotgun, a quart of cheap booze, an insurance claim form from your homeowners insurance policy, and you'll get a new paint job for the living room, a new hedge trimmer, and at least a 30 day all expenses paid vacation. That's about as cheap as you can get. But the Mrs. will be happy to see you (unless she found somebody else), the dog will be happy to see, the neighbors will be happy to see you (sober of course), the preacher will be happy to see you back in church, and now you have the lyrics for our new country tune!:)

May still need a carb cleaning these are finicky about the carburetors. Looking good tfhough one step at a time paw paw. We hope it will fire up less work or maybe more good question. Lol
@DoingItCheap6 жыл бұрын
I fully expect to have to pull the carb and replace all the fuel lines as well, but I have my fingers crossed.

We call them little burgers mud wasps and they are a pain in the butt but they must have a use like every thing in nature I just haven’t found it yet. Keep on keeping on

Another one about to be saved from the landfill. That thing should fire right up if the diaphragms are good. I have my fingers crossed for you Paw Paw 😀

The only thing left is to overhaul the carb and replace fuel lines if it doesn't work. I am confident it will run. We will see !!

I think you are going to need a little bushing on that eccentric pin that drives the cutter bar. I'm guessing the first person that disassembled it lost it!

Hey Paw Paw looks like I am first. Just did a quickie with you and watched your video on making penetrating oil. I am going to make me some. I have an old gas weed-eater I am going to try and get going again. Thing is heavy and has not run for over a year but I like her. Bought the wife a battery operated weed-eater so no hurry in getting the old girl fixed. Take care and I like the hair cut. Give Sadie a pat for me.

That penetrating oil is the best I have ever used. I have wasted a LOT of money on PB Blaster and WD-40

PawPaw I had a curved weed eater years ago. That thing would not die. I finally lied to the wife and got an echo. The weed eater brand was still working when I sold it for 5 bucks at a yard sale.
