This was very useful, but the fix was easy to miss in the video. I had just replaced my battery. My inner roof panel worked but the glass roof did not move. All that was need was to close the inner panel on the switch. Then hold in forward direction for 30 seconds. Then both inner and outer glass roof worked. I also fully opened and held switch in open position for 30 seconds for good measure :) Thank You

Some tricks, but easy enough to do and probably saves hundreds of dollars. The manual close is important because it most likely will fail open and on a trip where you can't get home to work on it, you close it and don't touch it.

I recently purchased a 2002 when I got it the sunroof was raised on the right side, I’ve checked the motors any time I plug the cord from the motor into the left side of labeled CL that individual motor will work, but neither both at the same time. Could it being stuck have burned my control module ? Or is it not doing it bc something is broken on the trac?

From what you say if the sunroof is able to move when either moror is on , it looks like the control module is wrong

Great video, thanks. In my case the motors doesn't switch when I fully close my glasroof. So the gear overspins and get damaged. I have tried to synchronize. Manually closed the sunroof then connect the battery.. nothing worked. Same problem as before. When I open my glasroof it only opens partwise. Maybe someone knows what to do in this case?

I've got a C180. They change the batery. Now, I can't open/close sunroof because my cover panels are broken (not the motor but the cover panels themselves are desatached to the motor. The problem is that control just moves the right motor (the one that theoretically moves the panel - but as i say, they are desatached. and opened). So the left motor (the sunroof) never moves. Can i bypass the right motor cover panels, and just use the left motor? How to do it? (Right now i just can open/close the sunroof manually with T25). Thanks in advance

So you mean the motor that openes the sunroof spins but is not connected to that special chain inside the channels ? Sorry , I did not understood well the situation and why you want to bypass one of the motors 🤔 If that chain is somehow broken / it does not move than you must remove the whole sunroof amd find another chain with the "chain compartment " Or maybe those who replaced the battery "replaced " also something from the sunroof 😂 it can happen ..

@@doit_vehicles , the right motor (the one that open/close the cover panels) spins correctly, but doesn't move the cover panels because they are desatached (and is very difficult to reatach by myself. As you say, i should remove all the stuff). Now, the cover are permanently opened. No problem. I just want to know if there is some easy way to open/close th sunroof, because right now, when i touch the controls (up, down, forward, reward) just spins the right motor, but not the left one (the one that opens/closes sunroof). I see , well you can bypass the right motor by just disconnecting it and try to reconnect it to the motor for the sunroof . I think it might be as simple as to just switch the connectors possition or you might have to increase the leght of the wires .. time consuming but as long as the wires will send the right signal , it will work ! Try to play around with the conectors as there is nothing to brake since the electronics of this sun roof are weird thoug .

Hi and thanks for the helpful video doit_vehicles! I have a question though? My car's back sun shade (backseat area) is not in sync with the front shade. They are supposed to work together right? If so, how would I get the back sun shade to work? Is there another motor for it or could something be missing for it not to work? Your thoughts please and thanks in advance!

Hi ! Thanks and sorry for late reply . Is the back sun shade mooving ? or is just not synchronized ? If they are not syncronized you must remove the whole sunroof assambley and check the wire/chain/belt thing which moves the covers . It is defnetly a phisical / mechanical issue since the front one moves , so it's the matter of taking everything out and see what's going on . Unfortunately I did not made a video about that since I never encounter this issue before .. 🤔

There is a plastic rail to pull it out when it is closing, that plastic rail is broken and the motor still work then the front one goes out and the back one still not work (not going out to cover the glass). You can use hand to pull it out to cover the glass and it will pull back strongly.

My sun glass moves just fine, and the shade does not. I have tried a different motor, and neither move the shade. I have manually moved the shade closed with a wrench, disconnected the battery, and turned back on, but the shade stays in place and the glass continues to move correctly. Any tips.

try to switch the connectors from the shade to the glass and vice versa than try again . Don't remember exactly if that it's possible on this car . Anyway , big chance that the control panel is wrong

If the lights work but no sound of the sunroof. You think the panel is the problem

Test the motors . The lights are independent of the sunroof

Hi ! As far as I know , those bolts come together with the motor and they do not have a separate part number . The best is to buy something similar from a local shop or salvage them from another car ..
