In the State of Texas Farm tractors and machinery have the Right of Way and do not need any form of License plate on them on the Roadway...... Also horses have the Right of Way on any "FM" Farm to market road... so if a horse crosses the road and toy hit said horse.. your at fault not horse lol.. Trust me I'm a Deputy

Just so you know, farm tractors hauling trailers are not required to have plates (they don't even issue plates to them in most states), but they are required to have a follow vehicle with amber lights when traveling on state roads.

46:00 In my state Farmers are legally allowed to drive farm equipment on public roads, except for interstates. Now in Calif. you don't even need a drivers license to operate a implement of husbandry, unless you have previously had a license and had it revoked or suspended. Anyone whose feet can reach the pedals and who is proficient in using the vehicle can drive it on public roadways. Most agriculture equipment needn’t be registered. Only a big rig hauling a farm trailer needs registration, but not the trailer. If it was a commercial big rig and trailer, both would require registration.

Just letting you know here in Pennsylvania (don't know about other states) its legal to drive a tractor like that on the road w/o a plate just needs an orange triangle... as long as it's being used for farm use only such as going from field to field,back to the farm... or delivering farm goods it's totally legal..

In Wisconsin I know a tractor needs no registration on it and can be bought tax free if you are farm. Also it can travel any road for farm use while not paying fuel tax. Also the person driving it does not need a drivers license. just needs to be 14 with training. It may even be a country wide law?

I don't know how it is out in Cali., but here in TX and the 4 states area all you need is the orange triangle to drive on the roads around here that does not include the Interstate system I don't think but everything else is ok you don't need a tag on the tractor.
