Believe it or not, there's a method to his madness. Basically, because Emile is so far ahead right now, he's letting Tim and Jon take the big risks themselves while he coasts along to the finish line. Ironically, not taking a risk is a pretty risky strategy in itself, but in this case, I think it's a fairly smart one; since he probably wouldn't reach the dungeon in time anyway.

For you all to know, there's a hidden space behind Overlord Rico's spot that has the best weapon in the game, the Punisher. It's a sword that has a chance of doing a fire magic attack like the Flare Lance does, but it has higher stats overall. To get it, you need a Skeleton Key.

Not insta, just probably seems that way because you're probably very strong at that point and not a lot of things can survive one hit from a 300 Atk weapon and then a Giga Blaze. It works the same way as the Flare Lance, attack, then sometimes Giga Blaze. Jon's Clonus did that previously and Jon lived to see the rest of Heck for now :P

Can I just say that having attacks that destroy weapons is stupid game design? If they really wanted to have something like that, just add broken versions of the weapons that grant half their stats and can be repaired. It would be easy to program.

Yes and no. It depends on a lot, this also means a model for EVERY broken weapon and shield doubling the amount of space and a lot of effort in the game possibly above the budget. What about secondary effects such as Sun Shield or the Damage 30% Class boost? If these effects stay there would be no reason to change as the bonus would often outweigh the loss making it negligible most of the time and make the effect completely pointless, and super rare items that can be gotten in the final dungeon would still be some of the best gear in the game even then at half stats, because it can't go lower. It is also a game with a lot of random chance, so to negate players getting super weapons (Darkling Gear) they need a flat out break. Some of the Gear offers 200 points, even then a flat 100 is huge. It can't even go under that 100 at that point which means it is flat out better ultimately. The fact is in a game like this, completely broken weapons and shields are needed, otherwise you can literally become god and the entire game becomes pointless and if they made a lot of the cool gear weaker... in turn your gear would be more of a foot note and a waste of time to get a lot of gear.

And the wandering blacksmith (forgot his name) could be able to reforge weapons, but with a tiny bit larger price than the forge rare weapons price and never fail. This could help ask the player if spending more on a 100% chance thing is better than less on a low chance thing.

Despite what you said I don't think Darkling Equipment is allowed to break. Rust is not considered a legal Spell to use vs the Darkling(It is crossed out and cannot be used), as is Delete as Jon learned earlier.

BOTW I don't think is a good comparison because in that game most of the enemies drop a weapon of sorts, so even if something breaks, you always have something to use or hit the Bokolins with. Not so much in Dokapon(Tim is just getting extremely lucky with the Flare Lance) where only a handful of enemies in this game drop equipment and that's less than a 30% chance of happening.

Well, he wouldn't necessarily step into tim's fight- he just assumed that glass cannon timbo will get a good hit in, take off 50% of Rico's health, and then he will get one shotted. I half assume that this is the intended gameplay style of Dokapon- that is why Rico goes to the effort of healing himself after a turn or so.

I think that the Guardian's stats are based on the best BASE stats of the entire groups. So it would be the best stats of everyone BEFORE weapon buffs are applied. Is this correct?

I think it is based on the group's stats, but not entirely. When Tim started the fight, the guy had about 420 defense and Jon still had his shield. When Jon started the fight, he lost his shield, and the enemy lost about 100 defense (on top of some health). However, the enemy's defense was higher than Jon's in bother cases, including when Jon had the shield. I dunno, it's weird.

I just checked Dokapon Wiki, and it doesn't say how Demon's Guard's stats are determined, just that they're not fixed. What's more interesting, though, is that it's NOT listed as a monster that can auto-counter. Maybe it's incomplete data on the Wiki, but still. For the record, the monsters that are confirmed to auto-counter are Rico Jr., both forms of Overlord Rico, Comacho (haven't seen in this playthrough), Wabbit, Wallace (also haven't seen), Chimpy, Robo-Sassin, Clonus, and whatever monster is holding the Royal Ring.

Who said the Nihilist Sword was bad? It still is the third strongest weapon in the game in terms of ATK, gives 5 in every other stat and 100 HP. The HP cost is literally only 1/10th of your health that activates infrequently, and the fact you have a 100% of getting it if you beat the Demon's Guard makes it a great last-minute buff if you didn't get something like the Flare Lance. Obviously since Jon DID have the Flare Lance, the Nihilist Sword was the inferior choice as he was not a Ninja. But yeah, not worth the reaction of "NEVER USE THIS EVER".

In my run, Nihilist Sword really helped me in the long run, especially since I didn’t have magic to begin with and I went in with the Ninja class. It’s really good IMO

exactly it makes them Semi Useless at least with Shop Shields you can replace them (albeit the stats are worse) but these Rare Shields shouldn't be rare for that reason a Rare shield should be something you want to keep all game/most of the game and with Special abilities shop shields don't have so when you can lose it and have NO WAY OF SAVING IT...its stupid...why not Have Han's be able to reforge/make it for a high cost or a Mini task?

Rexaura888 Emile does not have a Twitch as far as I know. From what I can tell, an anomynus donator can change their handle name from "anomynus" to basically anything. Hence the "State of [blank]" joke donations that pop up on his streams. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on this.

I have no idea if that is him (likely not if that profile image isn’t a Twitch default, but even so who knows), but it’s there. I also have no way of seeing when that channel was made, as I did see in a related tweet from October last year to Marrilland that Emile confirmed he at the time did not have a Twitch account.

I’m pretty damn sure nobody will see this, but uh- I always find myself rooting to Emile in these types of things. He’s always just so happy and childish, always making puns, being fun all the time.. He gives me a lot of hope, actually.. Going a little deep, but as someone with depression, he’s definitely one of those people who I look at, and my mind tells me that I wanna be like that. I’m getting better, and this cheerful guy keeps me going. I’m getting a ferret soon, and in honour of this happy man, I’m naming him Emile. I hope he’s just as loveable and playful.

I'd really like someone (or myself) to make a mod of this game that gives you the option to defend against Battle Skills. As we see in this video, you have no way to defend yourself against their stupid ass effects (like Wail auto killing, breaking your rare equipment, etc.). I know some people like it as it adds tension and such, but the end game screws you so hard that it's literally not even fun anymore. Look how long it took Chugga to get enough money to finally get a weapon back, and it'll probably just get broken again, especially because he's in first place. I think the Battle Skill defense option could take the place of Give Up, since that's a pretty cheap option for backing out of battles anyway.

Tbh the Nihilist Sword isn't the worst. Like yeah, you were definitely right keeping the flame spear over it but the damage against yourself doesn't necessarily matter as long as you have Revivals and/or Deathblocks. I remember when I killed Overlord Rico, I was ending as an alchemist so I kept replicating my deathblocks and I also had the Nihilist Sword and Overload. You'd think Overload is a bad ability, but it literally got me up to 999 strength and I two shot overlord Rico easily, only taking recoil on the second attack. I think my weapon had either broken or been outdated, so that's probably why I took it. I dunno, it's better than nothing.

Nope, it DEFINITELY works even if the other person is on a different map, as using the Come Here field spell allows that, and the Darkling Come Here is a carbon copy. Plus I've planned games and have done that as a Darkling. Thing is I'm not sure if Tim would think of that if he does become a Darkling.

Tim's really got barely anything to lose by going Darkling at this point. I mean they might want to finish the game but if Tim wants a chance in heck at winning, he probably should go Darkling. Just a thought. I understand why he's not though.

The experience gained from towns overtaken would fairly negligible at this point, he might gain a level or two out of that and going after the two of them repeatedly . . . but is a couple levels going to make that big a difference with boss stats that high?

Losing all towns _and_ the passport will really set him behind, so he would also need to be extremely deliberate and lucky if he chooses Darkling. Killing someone for their passport (his only option would be Jon, and that's only if Jon dies) and also defeating Rico Sr., otherwise he's basically guaranteed to lose very badly.

the nihilist sword is a good choice if you don't have a fire lance or the black fist i forget whats its called or if you are a ninja, the life drain only occurs infrequently, in my experience about one of 3 attacks for ~150 HP each.

In regards to Brimstone, I always picked Defend against it. It didn't seem to have a higher or lower chance of breaking the shield as far as I can remember. Seems to just be a random chance no matter what as long as it hits.

I'm trying to figure out the Demon's Guard stats... It's definitely based on the players. Proof? Notice that the Demon's Guard's Defense and HP went down when Jon's Sun Shield broke. Its attack and Magic are the average of all players, just like Rico Jr. The Demon's Guard's Speed, Defense and HP are influenced by other players as well, but I think there's some multiplier or additive applied to it...

I already did the math and the Demon Guard's speed, Defense, and HP is higher than the players' average. For example, Defense; Chugga's Defense: 319 Tim's Defense: 236 Jon's Defense: 175 Average Defense: 243.3333 The Demon Guard's Defense: 350

I like how both Jon and Chugga got the year of the Great Depression wrong (it's 1929, assuming Chugga meant the year it started). Jon was probably thinking of the year the Roaring Twenties started rather than the year they ended.

Oh, I wouldn't expect anyone to particularly know the exact date nowadays unless they were into history, it was just funny to hear one wrong date 'corrected' to another wrong date. The Great Depression was a worldwide thing though, so I don't think Americans 'should' be expected to know the date more than anyone else, just because it started there with the Wall Street Crash.

I took the Nihilist sword and it never did damage to me when I atacked all it did was the turn I got it I had 100 less health and then nothing else happened with it. The game ended a few turns after though.

It always makes me cringe when people don't use the 1st cave for fast travel. (If you didn't know at the end of the cave in Asia there is a space which can teleport you to any church or dokapon castle. SUPER USEFUL)

Also, that gold gap got a lost thinner when Jon killed the Guardian, it’ll be a very long shot for Emile to catch up, but at least he’d be playing smarter in visiting a temple that’s closer to the Gates if and when he gives the Curry under a different (Jon’s) name.

it's pretty bullshit that enemies can destroy weapons in general, let alone rare weapons you can't buy normally. it'd be better if like bosses could take weapons and defeating them gave said stolen weapons to whoever beat them if they needed to have a system of weapons being taken away at all.

what really erks me is human players have a REALLY hard time progressing yet A.I just seems to always get what they want or need like during the section they are in the A.I killed the guardian before the final boss way to easily and i could barely move 2 spaces cause of how per determined spins are by the time i got to the door the final boss was alredy killed and the game was over i came in 3rd place but....at least i did get Hero class still think robo knight is my personal favorite oh and last time they were fighting there clonous and thinking the angel chocker would not trig ....WELL IT DID IN MY RUN not once not twice but 3 TIMES in a row making my fight with the clonus very dragged out

yeah the clonus is a big roadblock for death dodgers, acrobats with the angle choker in particular are basically unkillable without serious amounts of overkill oneshotting, and you need soul fire to pull that off.
