YO: David! Please note that Asbestos CAN definately degrade over time, to the point where it can scale of fibers to the surrounding area over time. Which is one of the reasons a lot of schools are getting rebuilt in my country. Good news is, the amount is usually to small, unless you have daily exposure, for example if you attend a school or workplace with asbestoslining/concrete/insulation By the way: love your concern! It's just weird that this is what you are concerned of. How about the countless times he takes mask on and of when paint is sitll in the air, or the painful amount he decides to just spray it riht next to his face with no mask

I think there are just basic minimum things you always need . And a background colour is needed . You got away without it because you used chrome and it covers what’s underneath easy. With normal colours you use heaps more cans to cover what’s underneath. It’s cheaper to cover the wall in cheap house paint , then use one pass with any colour to cover the wall .

Cheapest way to make a piece is doing the sketch with a chalk, filling it with bucket paint and outlining it with a dollar can, i do it, a lot of people do it and it costs mabye 5 euro for the whole piece (and yes bucket paint is an bigger investment but it's cost effective in a longer period)

Dont worry too much about aspestos. It is not a problem to have it “sleeping” inside of a wall, in a house. Plates outside in the sun, that get rained on , have deteriorated surfaces after 50 years. Some summerhouses have old aspestos roofs. Its fine. Outside buildings it will mainly be the roofing material and inside buildings its mainly roof plates in industry. Regarding the material. The aspestos itself is held in a glue cement mixture. It only get released into the air when plates are being broken. So dont brake it at you should be more than fine....actually, painting on it will give it a new surface. Yayyy ;P

Just to reassure you, Asbestos is not carcinogenic. However, heavy and long-term exposure to Asbestos can cause Asbestosis, which is a lung condition resulting from chronic lung injury caused by the fibers. Therefore, it is the continuous inflammation and scarring of the lungs that can cause cancer, not the Asbestos in itself. You can compare that to a sunburn, one burn is very unlikely to cause cancer. Also, UV exposure causes DNA mutation while Asbestos does not. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asbestosis en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asbestos

In America you can get a shitty rusto can at a Lowes or Home Depot for 4$ A piece.. that’s how you do it cheap, a full piece for like 12$, but you need adapters for that, which are kinda annoying and the paint isn’t that solid.. in America you’d get arrested painting at an abandoned spot like that too..
