Fun fact: When this scene appeared when I first played the game, I tried pressing the "Skip" button, but for some reason, it wasn't working. So I was forced to go through the entire scene, pressing the space bar for an endless amount of time as Yuri was decomposing. Definitely one of the most haunting scenes. Fun Fact: While Yuri is decomposing, you can see she has a small smile, meaning she was joyfully psychotic while killing herself. But, after the 1st or 2nd night, her small smile turns into a frown. Another fun fact: This song is just "Play With Me" but slowed down, and more creepy/variant. Play it at 2 speed, and you can see its very similar to "Play With Me", but its still a bit slowed down.

When I first saw this scene I was confused. I didn't understand why Yuri would stab herself when the player accepted her confession.. I understood if they rejected her.. l I think Monika didn't have intention to drive Yuri and Sayori to kill theirselves but yeah, Monika playing with both Sayori's depression and Yuri's obsessive + cutting problems. When they reach they limit, It just drives them to death. MC supossed to help Yuri with banner on the weekend. But Yuri reached her limit, she just almost can't handle herself. She realized something is wrong with her, but she can't handle it anymore. When MC accepted her confession, It probably the feeling of overjoy that leads her to death since she said when strong emotions come, she will cut herself. Yeah it's also worse since she probably will harm MC. She just can't handle herself anymore, so she probably won't realize how he Will hurt MC. That's also why, she probably kill herself too. She actually don't want hurt anyone.

Hello everyone, I'd like to share a real story about me about DDLC, which includes this scene and music. So when i first played DDLC i was only 14 years old (I am 17 now), And i really liked Yuri. I like REALLY really liked her. She was my favorite girl of the whole game, because i found her shy and reserved nature cute. Not to mention her great physique. As far as i remember, I always showed my poems to Yuri first, and i remember learning all the keywords that makes Yuri closer to you in the poem game. Sayori's death also traumatized me, but preparing festival with Yuri route made me feel a bit better about myself. After all, I really loved her. Now you might say "Oh, she isn't even real, She doesn't even have real feelings!" That's not how that works. I am a person who can easily attach to someone, because i was never truly loved. I always wanted a girl to hug, and I always wanted a girlfriend during that age, but I never got one. It's because girls apparently find me too "bold and brash. But I didn't feel that way with this game and Yuri specifically. These characters loved me. These characters appreciated me for who I am. Thus, I finded comfort in them. A way of coping mechanism, one would say. At Act 2, Yuri was getting weirder and weirder each in-game day, but I didn't mind. After all, I never judged anybody in my life, nor discriminated them for who I am. When Yuri confessed to you in game and said that all questionable things, I clicked "Yes" without hesitation. Only for what? To watch her stab herself in the stomach twice, and once in the chest. I was so shocked, my skin went pale, and my whole body shaked. Now here is the real traumatizing part. For some reason, the "Skip" button didn't work, so I had to sit there, clicking, clicking for hours as her body slowly decomposed before my eyes. Again, she might not be real, but I found comfort in her. I found comfort in DDLC. Now, I love all the doki's equally, but back then Yuri was just something else for me. She was also unappreaciated in her community. I had a good sense of humor, I was great at sports, I was a fairly bright student, yet I never found luck in girls. Sure, I had a massive group of friends, but... I never had the chance to have a romantic relationship with a girl during that time limit. Back to the point, I had to sit and click the dialogue button because the skip button didn't work, and I watched Yuri each 3 morning, 3 night in-game days decompose before me. After I finally reach the end of that traumatizing experience, My eyes were filled with tears, I was crying uncontrollably over a fictional character! Ridiculous, right? But at the time, that was my coping mechanism and seeing that just die before my eyes made me very sad and upset. I deleted Monika without second thought. After that, I deleted DDLC and I was borderline depressed. I wasn't paying attention to the class, I wasn't talking with my friends, no nothing. My family and school took notice of my new demeanor. I was called to the principal's office one day, Asking me about my change of demeanor. I said "If i tell you what happened and why am I so upset over something, You'll think I'm delusional." The Principal insisted on me telling what happened. I started talking about my relationship with the girls in my class, and how they treat me unfairly specifically. Then I started talking about DDLC, of how I found comfort in them, but mostly in one of the girls. At the time, I am not fully aware that DDLC was a psychological horror game, And thought the warnings were for "explicit content". And I told the principal that one of the characters deaths made me deeply upset and sad. The principal suprisingly showed understanding, and said he understands my situation. He said I crave "love and comfort", Which he wasn't wrong. I really just wanted a girlfriend, A girl I can hug, A girl who understands me, A girl who I can bury my face in their shoulder and cry whenever I feel upset, A girl who supports me, You get the rest. I was depressed and sad for quite a while after, but I eventually recovered. Yuri's death and this music traumatizes me still, but atleast I don't get goosebumps and cry! If you readed all the way here, I just want to thank you for listening to my story. I hope you have a wonderful life with great people surrounding you. Peace!

The Scientific Time For A Boy’s Attraction To Females To Start Amplifying Rapidly. So I Played This Game In Secret. I Was Homeschooled And Isolated, So The Thought Of Being Around Girls\Women Was So Foreign Because Socializing Never Existed For Me Back Then. So I Played This Game Full Of Cute Girls Secretly From My Parents (They Hate The Idea Of Me Having A Relationship Before Moving Out) On Steam On My “Family Computer.” I Greatly Enjoyed The Game, Loved Doing The Poems As I Had A Thing For Poems And Books Back Then. Unlike You, Even Though I found Comfort And Feelings In All Of The Club Members, Monika Always Stood Out To Me…. Very Much So….. So I Continued On In The Game, Went Down Natsukis Route, Then Sayori Happened On Christmas Eve. I Was Terrified, I Alwayd Had A Fear Tolerance From A Young Age But This Was Different. I Immediately Went To Bed At 4:00 A.M, My Entire Core Shaking As The Haunting Music Still Rang In My Ears As I Spent A Long Time Trying To Go To Sleep. Flash Foward A Couple Of Days And I Know Something Is Really Off With The Game. “I Liked Sayori, But As Long As Monika Is Still In The Game….” I Went Down Yuri’s Route. I Was Like “Why Not, She’s Acting Crazy Which Is Weird But Not Something I’m Against.” I Get To The Yes Or No, And I Am Frozen. “I Really Like How Crazy Yuri Is, But I Love Monika” (My Thoughts Were Probably Way Less Mature Than That But I’ll Say That For Example) I Tap No… 😀 🔪🩸…. “What Happened” I Was Entirely Stunned As Yuri Stabbed Herself Repeatedly And I Felt Absolutely Horrible And Guilty As I Feel That I Caused Her To Do That Since I Tapped No. skipping didn’t work I found that out after staring at her decomposing corpse. *Night Time* “Why Isn’t Skipping Working?” I Thought As I repeatedly Tapped The button Before Giving Up And Tapping Through The Dialouge As This Deeply Depressing Music Plays Loudly Into My Headphones. *Day Time* “Why Does The Color Keep Changing?” I think Confused As This Cathartic Corpse Has Completely Encapsulated Me. *Night Time* . . “I’m Trapped” . *Day Time* . . . *Night Time* I Am Completely Out Of It As I Stare At Yuri’s Corpse, Mindlessly Clicking The Spacebar As I Endlessly Watch The Glitchy Dialogue Repeat Itself. *Day Time* After An Absolutely Sanity Shattering 30 Minutes Of Staring At Her Corpse. I Tape The Space Bar For The Final Time Before The Screen Finally Changes. I Look At The Clock, Finally Being Broke Of My Encapsulation. And I Notice 30 Minutes Passed. This Makes Me Deeply Upset For Some Reason As My Eyes Tear Up. Yuri Was My Least Favorite But She Definitely Did The Most Damage To Me. This was the most emotional scene in the game in my opinion. Seeing yuri on the ground dead and decomposing, really is sad. That once timid and shy girl who loved the relaxing things in life, like books and lavender air thingys. And then just turns into a monster. It makes me sad to think that she really needed the protagonist in her life. Suddenly just loses everything. This also reminds me of all those memories in act 1 including sayori. Which makes this scene even more emotional. Sayori always lights the mood. And it just doesn’t feel right not having her around. Like could you imagine all the things yuri could’ve done if monika was not aware?? I mean just listening to this music brings back all those memories in act 1. It just feels absolutely revolting. I mean, I totally agree why monika would do all this stuff, the protagonist was the only person she could communicate with. Not even the protagonist but the player. Like i would do the exact same things monika would do if i was trapped. It makes me feel better knowing the other girls are just scripts. But as a person with not many friends in real life makes me incredibly connected to all the girls. Seeing all this happen always puts a hole in my soul. I hope you all understand what im saying. Or bring her back. Yuri’s was traumatic because you had to sit there with her body as it began decaying, her eyes losing vitality as the days progressed. And she stared at you the entire time. Because she loved you.

while most people would say that when she kills herself after you accept her confession, it's out of sexual reasons, like she gains pleasure from it. i like to think that this is her last act as a sane person, she kills herself to stop her from doing terrible things, not to herself, but to other people. you could see how she often realized that something wasn't right with her. so yea.

Here's my theory even if no one asked: as a person that suffers from BPD I think Yuri does too, she struggles with constant social anxiety and she gets obsessed with MC because she has never had any real friend before, so she fell in love very sickly with him til the point the obsession turned into something really disgusting. The game base code's so broken in this point that her corpse, with a slightly, dark smile, made MC stay with her because she wanted him very bad to stay with her the whole weekend
