@@XellosNi Another comment already mentioned this, but I think it describes Doki well here *The unpredictability of a beginner, with the instincts of a Pro* it also helps that she plays grappler, an archetype that beginners have a hard time working aginest because you can't just brainlessly rush and hope for the best. The Aki player to her great credit understood that. Yet unfortunately for her, Doki adapted VERY quickly.

Yeah, it suits where she is in the ladder, and she's making it look like a broken thing, but the higher you get up the ladder, the less you'll get away with it. Until you reach the rank where the "pros" that drown in tournament pools reside and this stuff will start working again. Because they think too much, they forget that Yomi Level 0 exists and don't expect to fight a player who won't play the way they expect. And then this stuff stops working again once you reach the pros that regularly shows up in top 64s. Because they know and often go to Yomi Level 0 to remind themselves that it exists.

They can do thing 1 to counter that, so instead of doing thing 0, I do thing 2 to counter thing 1. But they KNOW that, so they do thing 3 to counter my thing 2. But I KNOW they know that, so I do thing 4 to counter thing 3. Meanwhile Doki's just chilling like: "I want to grab" (thing 0). And because she's not thinking ahead 17 moves, the thing 0 she wants to do beats what a decently high player expects, because they are used to playing people who know they "can't" get away with thing 0.

Doki is terrifying in the sense that she's very, VERY competitive when she takes a game seriously. She has very good instincts which allow her to seem a lot more experienced than she actually is, but she's also a little bit nuts and is willing to do something unpredictable and stupid because it's funny. I think it'd be very hard for her to be the "best" at any game, but I think she can sit down and be better than the majority of the game's population just by taking a game seriously for a few days/weeks.

I love Zangief so much. Even if you play him or just see him, you just can't stop admiring the dancing between the slap and the suplex. The high risk high reward, the neutral and the footsies. Graplers are the hardest (at least to me) to learn. You really need to learn every single match up and play to enter or not to that damage, every fight is an uphill.

Gief is what I refer to as a “noob stomp” character. Characters like K’Rool from Smash and May from Guilty Gear are noob stomp characters. Unless you actually know Fighting Games, you’re gonna lose against them more than often.

For those that don't know, Gief's LVL 3 is 0 Frame Startup/active; this means that if you aren't already out of range or jumping when it activates, you are already grappled. (As I recall, this is the only 0 Frame move in the game.)

Doki has good knowledge of her tools and both reactions and predictions. Also she didn't crack under pressure, is very good on her adjustments and on implementing her coach strats. Also she has some twoedged traits. YOLO for once, you think that Doki doesn't the courage to do it without setup? She has the courage. Because she doesn't have a lot of experience or fundamentals she becames kinda of impredictable by not following stablished patterns and difficult to adjust against.

Most opponents are broken from all these grabs. -1st opponent's advantage is being Bison. Knowledge is the play. -Lily being Lily, she keeps jumping. Gotta break the habit and learn her character more. -Sykunno already gave up the moment they started the match, mindset being "TOO MUCH DMG, ITS NOT FAIR" -4th opponent is level-headed, she knows AKI well enough to challenge Doki. Watching her do this to fighting games reminds me of the Mass Effect playthrough of a legally-distinct purple dragon who once nearly got murdered by a Company that needs to be destroyed and whose existence is unforgivable. Anyway, this dragon was really good at FPS games, so when it was time for Commander Shepard to become Commander Shootmans, she absolutely *flicked* dudes down. It was absurdly easy for her to transfer at least a part of those skills. That's the reaction times we're seeing out of this girl here.
