The moment she stopped thinking it's over for Eskay

For a newbie with practice under his/her belt? Thats the best mindset you can have. Its what i like to call "gamer mode", at that state you just press buttons that you ever though that worked and its surprisingly effective.

@@GreenSpyroThat's called *The Zone.* A short time window when your attention is at 110% and you reach peak cordination eye-finger. Presing buttons almost by instinct. It can sound cringy, but is a real phenomenon of study because happens to pilots and other people doing similar stuff.
@Dmannrdn7 ай бұрын
You can see the transition in her mindset from Gumi/Esam to how she wrecked Eskay. The day before and leading up, she kept thinking, "Learn to block," "get some defense" before the Eskay match she said, "My defense is only 30... I need to ATTACK and press" lol 😂
@alexblack13987 ай бұрын
thats something i noticed for doki, whenever she focuses to hard she seems to be too tensed up and perform poorly, but the moment she is just having fun and saying jokes over and over again she performs better. I assume its her trying to be less tense to perform better. Also she seems to crumble when expectations are high which really shows here that by the time she fought eskay, expectations were low and that it was assumed that she most likely wont win and that eases her up to play better.
@GreenSpyro7 ай бұрын
@@alexblack1398 Some people do better by not thinking too much about the situation, for example, i have an aunt that cannot drive alone. Someone has to talk to her for her to drive normally, when in silence she makes a lot of rookie mistakes, but if talking she kinda goes with the flow and drives well. Her eyes on the road and all that jazz

I was suspecting Doki letting Brawlpro hold the controller on finals but then I noticed Doki's iconic walking back for no reason just to block. It was so funny and it just went with the 50/50 where 1/4 of Eskay's life is gone every time she guesses wrong. For the majority of dragoons it was their first time watching FGC tournament. It was such a good moment.

King's grabs and punishes are still deadly when unchecked, that's why pros tend to break grabs a lot often.
@andrehashimoto80567 ай бұрын
Aka, why Grapplers are hard hitters. When their specialty is such close ranged style, the payoff HAS to be worth the effort of breaking through not just enemy attacks and blocks, but even interrupts or breaks from the grapple. Though King seems to have enough of a moveset for non grappling IF necessary, which makes a Good King main a nightmare if not countered and adapted fast.

Mental advantages like concentration, consistency and knowing how to to relax and get into flow state or the zone etc. Yesterday, Doki was at first struggling against the opponent block and range advantage etc. She was getting rekt by block and counter cuz she trying to play the same way . @@ThatchNetherfold *Lol what are you talking about???* _"The timing on those punishes"?_ *Not a single one of them was optimal* and every time she punished with the Rage it was either a mash or she waited until she saw a movement from the opponent. This is not a good habit to develop because it is easily exploitable. All a player has to do is sprint right at or walk/dash towards the person with Rage and hold back as soon the Rage Art starts or just before it. I'm not trying to be mean this comment section is making me feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone. She is playing as King yet every launch punish that she did had a 20-30 frame startup. King has 12-15 frame launch starters that lead into juggles. LOL WTF was that couch teaching her???
@ThatchNetherfold7 ай бұрын
@@mee091000 Yes, but only if its for the really high level shit (the professional level gameplay like Lil Majin), where its a baiting and fencing match for heavy moves. Activating punishes and Rage Arts during an enemy move is already more than enough for a newbie. And yes, at Doki's first few Tekken 8 streams, she did develop that exact habit you mentioned, but during this tourney (after the coaching), she corrected it well enough to use it as an opportunistic finish - that's what made the commentators speechless. PS: Brawlpro only taught her 6 moves, the rest were only corrections at best ,such as the Rage Art habit.

Watching this, I realized that the reason why doki was so locked in on the Eskay fight was because Reina was because Doki grinded so much so she encountered a lot of Reinas due to the meta so she is familiar with Reina's kit. Chances are she still needs to set it 100%, not something you snap just a few Minutes, especially if you want things to not happen right when you going to do something important on it, Streaming being most important for her case. But if her rig is not a sub GTX-1080ti level GPU, if the components aren't TOO worn from use, it still has some mileage, just not for Games from the post 2080 gen GPUs, when optmization went down the drain and it would perhaps takes MONTHS for it to come and let a 3070 or lower play. Tbh i would give that the PC setup will come, though when or what reasons forced the setuping will be a whole other can of worms
