Ari, Props to you and your choice of music. Been playing George's stuff since I was 14 years old. I'm 44 now. I have to say, your mirroring his style is heart warming, and brings back the good sound of the velvety edgy growl he had. I had a Kramer striker 100st back then, and modded it with the Screamin' Demon...wow what a difference. I know what you mean by the quality of that guitar your playing. I've had em' all, and that one in particular wasn't very user friendly. It really is an honor to watch your playing of all these greats. Keep it up, we're all enjoying your show my friend.

@@ahinko well I bought it used and the shop told me the pickup is not original. I have yet to receive it in the mail. The shop told me the pickup is not original and so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping it's similar sounding to yours

i didnt have the original pickup either.. this had Seymour Duncan Distortion on it. didnt really like the pickup tho, i would go with screaming demon (lynch sig) if i still had the guitar. alot of my tone has to do with Guitar Rig, pickups dont have that much matter in this case, but when played through an actual amp which has better dynamic response, it starts to matter more.

Rory McCallum this cost me half the original prize, cos i bought it used. and i sold it.. didnt feel that great to me, first i was like omg this is cool, cos ive always wanted one a little bit, but the neck werent for me, it could be just the XJ frets but i dont know, couldnt play it like my kramers with thinner neck profiles and thinner frets. feels like scalloped neck. and had a few factory problems as well, neck angle was way off (high e really close to the edge of finger board and low e more towards the center) and it couldnt be fixed by loosening bolts and putting it straight, the pocket was bad, it was tight but not straight :D and floyd studs werent straight. even at sweetwater's site you can see one with the neck angle problem. its just bad quality control, if you get one thats build flawlesly, it will be a great guitar, but if you get a bad one, you have to fix it. but most of cheap guitars have some quality control issues anyways, its not just this guitar or LTD.

yeah dude. Kramers are way better, but also not perfect on quality control, there's just something with lisenced floyds and stud install, there seems to be always a few in a line which are just bad. i assume the quality control gets better on the little more expensive models with original floyds, because floyd rose wouldnt approve a bad installation and then customers would think floyd rose is bad because it wont stay in tune or work correctly. ive had(currently have two) 3 strikers, and one was bad, but i fixed it and now it works like a dream! actually if you go to Thomann website and look for Striker 211 Custom fireburst, the pics are from my guitar :D i noticed the serial number and couple details in finish and in one picture you can see how the floyd stud is in a bad angle.

but hey you shouldnt be scared of this, because if you get a guitar with factory flaws, you could just send it back to the retailer and get a new one. it should work like that and be completely free, because they have warranty uknow! :D

david bartlett Thanks dude! i use Native instruments Guitar Rig 4 for amps effects and recording, then i mix the shit together with Audacity(free software). and videos i do with sony vegas pro. haha i laughed a bit at the last sentence.. you had bad luck with women not liking your everyday shredding? :D

Well i had Duncan Distortion on the bridge which lynch used 80's. GL-500k should be better but this is the lowest prize model, and it shows in quality control.

correct, its not. Duncan Distortion replaced the original humbucker.

not kidding, it may look like it, but sure didnt feel and work like it. it had some big quality control issues, like the floyd didnt work properly. because the studs we're mounted badly(not straight) and the neck pocket wasnt straight so the neck wasnt straight with the body and high E was closer to the edge of the fretboard that low E... ofc fixable but i didnt care because the neck felt awful to me. it was good looking tho. this was GL-200k so maybe 500k is better
