I agree with their points. I guess fans are more irrational than i thought because i didnt think many would turn on mel at all, since everyone on our side seemed sad about it. Good job Yuri shizu *clapclap* people need to hear this. Glad i got to hear this. Mel was such a sweet sugar fluffy vampire. She deserves to be happy she also worked for 5 years already, ofcourse who would want to see their fanbase disappear? It doesn't really make sense. She already worked hard for them and the company. Happy ending i would say! Hope she keeps on vtubing and gets a happy life. Hope she is happy in her new (old) company and debuts soon with less restrictions so she can live happily! Hololive is great and all but too much rules suffocate the talents. I mean they leave for a reason? Good ending in all ways considered i would say.

i suppose it's good that it's easier to follow favs after they leave the agency nowadays. the good thing about the old days is if you did hunt out someone's personal account, they'd sometimes still be posting personal things, but now they have like 200,000 followers on those accounts so everyone knows and there's no room for that. i always thought mel was underappreciated in the like, post-EN times, so if she's going to go indy hope this gives her a boost in fans.

It makes sense to reincarnate due to having all the equipment in your room and you don't want it to go to waste. Not surprising if long supportive fans follow you along the way of your new journey. Personally, I would have to consider reincarnation if I was in Mel's shoes. You could go back to a regular job but there's nothing like vtubing that makes your schedule just as free and lucrative. Normal streamer, sure, but I'm only mentioning what they were good at without all the stress.

Mel's PL went form 372,000 subscribers to 420,000. The people complaining about her funneling people to her PL are probably Hololive or vtuber antis. She was already popular before joining Hololive, with 11 video's with over a 1,000,000 views. Also her statement on her PL seemed to have killed a lot of the wild speculation that was going around, at least on the English side. I guess that's why antis have to resort to complaining that she's funneling people.
@kaigaikarano9 ай бұрын
as her memberships, a not really religiously kapumin... I think all of us know her PL, and she giving a statement in her PL is not mention ANYTHING or ANY COMPANY at all. she just say "I cannot say much, but I'm sorry for xxxxx etc etc cont" THIS IS VERY MUCH VERY FAIR.

Honestly, I don’t even see why people try to differentiate VTubers and streamers in general. They provide the same thing: entertainment in front of an online audience. It’s really sad to see Mel lose the connection to HL, but I’m sure she’ll do just fine on her other account. Much like Rushia, she has a dedicated fan base. It’s just sad to see it since she has had quite a rough startup in Hololive.
@Malumultimus9 ай бұрын
She's had that account since before she got hired and uploaded like once on a month on it. Her fans still love her and would of course want some kind of message from her. I'm surprised people's immediate response is to think it's just self-marketing, that's pretty cynical. Maybe she didn't need to try and use her cat as an excuse for her actions, but she's a girl, they always bury the message in superfluous detail.

If Rushia hadn't abused Cover Corp's trust so completely, I bet Meru-meru would have just gotten a suspension & a stern talking-to rather than being terminated.
@beefystu5599 ай бұрын
I don't think so. NDA is serious business. What happen with Rushia was them being professional. They don't exempt even their top earner from the rules. I find that admirable although I can understand her fans dismay. With Mel however, it seems there is a vibe of being reluctant to fire her since she was simply negligent, unlike Rushia who frankly speaking breached on being malicious. Rules aside, I think Hololive need to invest in some counseling for the active members. These cases are similar in a sense it all started with them having no one to speak to about their feelings.

that whole part of being on the side of the company like this (calling Mel 'vicious' or whatnot) is so unfathomably Japanese to me. Why would anyone ever take the side of the company in a situation like this? I feel like the general sentiment should be like 'fuck the company'. Especially since we dont even know how she breached her NDA, so it literally cannot have been that bad (for holo).
@nagajule77159 ай бұрын
She confided in someone who thought was her "friend". That said "friend" betrayed her trust and probably spilled the beans. And mind you, this was because she was stressed and her cat died. I feel sad about it considering she was one of the nicest ones out there with no suspensions or warnings.

@@nagajule7715 Been hearing several vtubers talking about how hard it is to make friends and trust anyone in the industry. It's such a shame to see people go out of their way to try to ruin someone else's life like this. However Hololive is blameless in this, they can't play favourites and they can't overlook NDA or contract breeches. This being the 2nd talent they've had to terminate because of poor decisions made while supposedly mentally unstable, if they want to be proactive in curbing this trend they could hire counselors or something for their talents to turn to.
@Kiwi-rn4pp9 ай бұрын
For the japanese, what is immoral is breaking the rule, it's not perceived as a company vs employee thing
@Elaine.P379 ай бұрын
There’s no “fuck the company” most people understand that cover did the best they could to end things amicably with Mel. Cover is on the stock exchange and has to answers to investors, breaching NDA is a major issue in Japan and sometimes even warrants prison time in some cases. It will definitely come up in the audit report if Cover cuts Mel any slack. If Cover gave leeway to Mel, it sets a precedent for them to do it again for other talents and Yagoo would definitely end up being the one on the chopping board.
@gabor62009 ай бұрын
I mean, it makes sense to "side with the company", because she absolutely did breach NDA so it's not really the company that's at fault, but calling someone "vicious" (or whatever the actual used word is, I don't speak japanese so I don't have any insight into the nuances within that sentence) for basically trying to make a living with their already existing resources is idiotic. It's not like consumers suffer any consequences (maybe potential change of content), other than having to subscribe to a different channel. Having a change of opinion regarding the actual person behind the actions is another thing entirely, but it's not like they actually know them personally (which some apparently think they do), nor do they have info on what actually happened. Judging a person based on a mistake and company policy is dumb.
