Well, I got it, and I'm happy with it, except for one thing. The V-I-B-R-A-T-I-O-N is so strong, that I have to hold the cup in place, otherwise it will be shaken off. Other than that, yeah, simple, small, quick brewing, The machine and 48 pods for 49 €, I think that's a bargain, and everyone at home loves it.

Very good machine, very portable. Quality of beverages are very good for this class of machines. It is easy to use, versatile, fast to operate and it has very small footprint. Now I always bring my coffee machine with me! As for plastic one time use pods, you can buy unofficial reusable metal or plastic pod. And make your own coffe. Very happy to use, don't know why I hesitate to buy this unit for so many years.

Thinking about getting my first coffee machine, I was thinking Tassimo Joy, but I think I like this one more. Because sometimes I want something stronger and sometimes not, but with the same coffee source. So that lever is handy. And where I live, DG pods are cheaper than Tassimo. So I think I'll get this one.

Great review. I definitely decided to pass on this machine when I saw I had to turn the switch off for it to stop. I have a Circollo and was looking for a smaller machine, but this one won't do. I do prefer the Dolce over a Keurig because the construction is night and day with the Dolce being so much better. Don't they have a smaller machine that stops itself when done brewing the desired cup size.
@manikrn0075 жыл бұрын
They do. Its called mini me. Its pretty similar except for the volume selector.
@Kasino804 жыл бұрын
It's really not that big of a hassle. You can't really do anything else in the time it takes to make a cup, plus you can leave it running shorter or longer depending on the intensity desired.
@lingth3 жыл бұрын
@@Kasino80 the problem i feel is when you do 5 or 6 cups of coffee, estimating when to turn off the lever or having to watch a timer to turn off the lever is a hassle, and you wont have a uniform standard as some cups may have a bit more water than the other cups. while if you have a water level selector you can maintain it at level 3 or 4.. and you can ensure all 5 or 6 cups remain constant in volume.. i think adding a bit for Genio S, pays off in the long run.

The best part of the dolce gusto series is that it brews at around 15 bars of pressure, comparable to barista grade espresso machines. Make sure that the model you buy can do 15 bars (most do, but some don't). The pods from nescafe are very expensive and not sustainable. The best way to use these is to get refillable pods (aliexpress/amazon) and buy your own coffee. It will be the best espresso you can make from a machine under 100 euros, I promise. I am using a mini me model. Love it.

This five-year-old review for a non-programmable Piccolo (now replaced by the programmable Genio with a larger reservoir) is incongruous when shown alongside a box for a later improved programmable (i.e., you can set the brew time by a thumbwheel to choose a light scale shown on the box -- and walk away). Why? Also, the newer Genio has a much larger reservoir that just happens to work with the older Piccolo...but isn't sold separately, sadly. All in all, this review is inconsistent as well as outdated. Also, there are now aftermarket metal pods one can fill and wash...which might be a good choice since Dolce Gusto no longer sells pods anywhere but through Amazon and related resellers here in the U.S., making it the only sources at a high price, at least here in The Colonies. Also sadly, the older programmable Piccolo and Genio were "set and forget" whereby unlike the old Piccolo shown here, one can set the brew level, throw the switch and walk away while it warms and then brews. But that's no longer possible with the newer Genio, where you have to stand and wait for the warm-up cycle before throwing the brew switch -- a step backward for convenience. But the larger reservoir makes up for the inconvenience.

Meanwhile, others claim there’s too much plastic waste... There is, but it doesn’t stop the world from its lazy ass hedonistic lifestyle. I’m sampling this machine right now (I didn’t buy it) and it works, however, it’s no better tasting than my own percolator and my percolator doesn’t waste plastic pods like they’re going out of fashion. It also makes 5 cups a time. Overall, it’s just pointless and wasteful. Pointless because percolators exist. Wasteful because of the plastic.

This is our second K-Classic. We had our first one for many years, so when we had to replace it, we wanted nothing else but this exact kzbin.infoUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf model. We use it for about three people everyday in the morning. The taste and quick brew is one of the reasons we like it so much. There are so many choices of brands of coffee that we would grab what was on sale and test the different brands from there. I would definitely recommend trying different brands of coffee to find the ones you like the most because there are brands that quite frankly taste horrible.
