There's hands-on care and quality-control at every step as DOLE Pineapples make their way from the farms and into a store near you.

So why are all the dole pineapples in H.E.B. grocery stores all green and sour if you wait till they are yellow and ripe to pick them?

Pineapple still green from the outside but inside is ripe...when they export it...so it wont get brushes or smash...when bought from grocery...you let it few days in your kitchen...color will change...then its more sweeter....same as banana you see in grocery store...

I have found that pineapples ripen in a different way than other fruits like bananas even after being picked. If I buy a pineapple that is a little golden on the bottom, and sit it out at room temperature that it will get more golden in the next 3-4 days. I think that that pineapple that sits out for a few days maybe sweeter than one that isn't as golden looking.

Working in produce. A green pineapple is not ripe. When it is golden is it ripe. If you want it to ripen place it in a bag and seal it. The gas it emits will cause it to ripen faster. Leave it at room temperature, and once it gets to the desired color, put it in the refidge for 24 hours. It will be the sweetest thing you've ever eaten.

I have never heard that technique...

excuse me but this is falsely misunderstood it doesn't mean if it is green that it is not ripe , they can easily pick it when they are green and ripe this is what i'm studying in college so i'm not just saying anything
@MrsBossman216666 жыл бұрын
lmfao. you're actually wrong.. they pick it when it's still green because it takes a while to reach stores and to the customers,.. by the time customers receive it, it should be ready and golden yellow looking.. i didn't study this in college or anything.. just from an island where pineapple is grown and eaten regularly..
