@@arnoldhenry that's not what I meant. I know that Robert Downey Jr. Has a history of 'that' as well. But he's referring to "Sherlock Holmes" which is (based on the novels) literally used drugs. Sherlock Holmes said it keeps him calm and helps him think. You can see a mark on his arms, patches, and smokes around the room.

Yeah, but octopuses' arms don't regenerate with their neurons. Most of an octopus's neurons are located in their arms. If they lose that arm, they can regenerate it, but without the neuronal function. So it's still an issue for them. It would be like a human losing part of their brain.

Why would they even say this? The phrase wasn't coined until much later by mafia syndicates. I know it seems like I am being nitpicky, but the animals constantly say modern quips and phrases despite the setting of this movie preceding almost all of them. Even in a movie with talking animals, it really broke immersion.

c'mon you just cannot blame the director. yes certain scenes could have been better scripted but they knew they were going for British era and Downey was playing a British. They should have thought about it before they started shooting. His dubbing is one of weak points of the movie.

I don't think they used a Filipino word. Dolittle is set in England if I'm not mistaken. "Ta-ra" is a variant of "ta-ta", and is an informal Northern English expression to say "goodbye".

These have been wonderful movies. Even Eddie Murphy made one, and I said "even" because the book is incredibly racist. Do not give to kids; view the movies. It makes a good read for adults wanting to see the depths of historic racism. For an example, Doolittle starts literally bleaching a black child. The lighter the child becomes, the more intelligent he is. Bleagh! Retired school librarian
