Everyone noticed the huge dolls dancing along but no one has mentioned the floating eyeballs in front of Olypmpia. There is a lot of interesting staging here that is both sinister and fun.

@@aristobrat4987 yeah, but you know, I looked into the actual opera's full story and, supposedly the glasses the guy is wearing makes Olympia look like a real woman for him and that's why he falls in love. So maybe the eyes, giant dolls and all that crazy stuff are supposed to be part of the hallucination? Although this version is quite far-fetched from the original

I truly think she is... Dessay is a proper diva of our time, an opera diva of the highest order... Precious and rare are those who can stand alongside her as the finest interpreters of this demanding role! And kudos to the director of this opera production, for not falling into the seductive pit of vulgarity, but rather keeping it on the magical (mystical) fairy-tale plane, which is so delightfully surreal, stimulating the imagination of everyone who has ever been a child, remembers it, or experienced dreams that were mixed with nightmares...

The box is on point, the dude falls in a love with the doll, so the staging here shows how she becomes alive for him in the second repetition of the motif

Wiem w jakich rejestrach śpiewa każda z Nich, gdyż Cecylię Bartoli miałem szczęścież i przyjemność wielokrotnie oglądać w Zurichu i raz (na historycznym już dziś recitalu) w Rzymie, a Joyce DiDonato w Londyńskim Barbakanie i podczas nie tak dawnych obchodów 100 lecia istnienia Filharmonii i ORKIESTRY w Rotterdamie.... żegnał się wtedy z tymi wspaniałymi Muzykami Yanick Nezet. Obecny dyrygent Metropolitan Opera i przyjaciel Joyce .... Widziałem Ją też tam właśnie w Normie Belliniego z naszą Wielką Rodaczką Sondra Radwanowski jako Normą... Joyce śpiewała partię Adalgisy... Proszę zatem nie robić ze mnie "małego Kazia" a z siebie... No sam Pan wisz... Nie zasługuje zatem, tak Pańska indolencja jak wyjątkowe (na forum tej witryny) braki w kindersztubie na moją sygnaturę....

Pozwoliłem sobie na żartobliwy komentarz i teraz żałuję, bo widzę, że trafiłem na człowieka kompletnie pozbawionego poczucia humoru, a do tego skłonnego do obrażania rozmówcy. Bardzo mnie Pan rozczarował, Panie Artysto. Mam nadzieję, że nie będzie Pan czynił następnych "dużych wyjątków" i oszczędzi mi kolejnych napuszonych, a obraźliwych tyrad.
