She was a fanatic singer. She passed on Oct. 1, 2023. RIP. she right up there with Amira Willinghgan and the other young singer of opera singers of today.
@jewelmarkess Жыл бұрын
She is much better than Amira or at least she is an opera singer while Amira is pop or, if you prefer, classical crossover. Amira could not even approach this difficult aria. Amira only sings a couple of simple arias with a mic as well as pop songs. Do you see Patricia holding a mic? No, she doesn't need it because she can project. The performance is recorded, so obviously there are mics for that, but notice how far she is from them. She'd blow them if she were to get closer. Not only Patricia had a beautiful voice, she studied and worked hard to be able to sing in operas in an opera theater and she also acts and expresses what she sings. (edited to add) Even as a child, she didn't just produced "beautiful noise", she sang with good technique and even then expressed the meaning of the words she sang.

@@jewelmarkessshe did often sing with a microphone, eg in tv studios or open air concerts, but she could also sing without one, even in a large concert hall.
@jewelmarkess11 ай бұрын
@@michaelhirst4191 Singing without microphone is only one difference, with an orchestra btw and a chorus and being heard over both of them. The fact that she doesn't sing any difficult opera arias, much less sings in operas is another. Patricia sang roles in opera in her native country, she sang Pamina in The Magic Flute. She got sick just as her career was starting, but this was her goal and she had both the talent and training for it. As to the microphone, in the past, Broadway performances weren't unamplified, there was still the difference between Broadway singers and opera singers and vice versa, as each genre had its own difficulties. Also, some time in the past, popular singers sang with full voice and the technique similar to classical, again, it was still a different genre. BTW do you really have no clue how difficult the aria that Patricia sings here is? It's not "O mio babbino caro" which if you only look at notes is the easiest soprano aria there is in opera. What makes it difficult is artistry, evenness, legato line. Diction and expression, artistry - expressing the emotion of the words and music as well as the personality of the character that sings is extremely important. It's very important in instrumental classical music as well, but in vocal music you not only When Patricia sang even something as simple (in terms of notes) as O mio babbino caro as a child, she was expressive and had good diction while Amira couldn't care less about the words or phrasing. Incidentally, why do people like you insist on mixing up genres? Amira choose a different genre, she didn't choose to pursue opera. Why do classical crossover fans want to insist it's opera? Is "opera" some kind of an honorary title for you? It's a profession.

Is that why they had to carry her in? Seriously, she's got a great technique at a young age---very smooth and relaxed with slight head tilt to her right---but if you're implying that she will keep getting better and better that is unlikely. This could be her peak for all we know, especially since the lock downs are holding everyone back. She needs to maintain what she's got and make small improvements over time if she is lucky.

Some of them are among the best female opera singers according to rankings I found on the internet. I had never heard of Patricia Janeckova until very early, this Sunday morning , when I accidentally found her on KZbin - was absolutely captivated by her rich , sumptuous soprano voice - and then was devastated to learn she had tragically succumbed to cancer last year at the very early age of 25 . There was only one full audio recording I could find ( to purchase) , which was made when she was still in her teens , and the rest of her ( later , post - teenage years’ ) oeuvre seemed to mainly comprise video recordings created by/for her , posted on KZbin . I was overjoyed at the discovery of this young , gifted soprano , but am so saddened and depressed that her life ( which could have fully blossomed into a burnished operatic career ) was so brutally truncated by cancer . Life can be so cruel and unforgiving …..

I discovered her several years ago and was looking forward to seeing her maturing and taking on the world but my life was so busy I didn't do regular searches for her new recordings, I guess I assumed there will be giant posters advertising her concerts everywhere soon and I will be reminded that way, then last night I had some time before going to bed and I thought I'd do a search for her and that's how I learned she's passed away last October. Just tragic, such a voice and such a talent gone. It really depressed me and even though I have tons of stuff to do, I'm just browsing YT now looking for her recordings. If you haven't heard her sing "Měsíčku na nebi hlubokém" in the concert in Berlin in Britzer Garten (sometimes in the second half of the crappy vid recorded by an audience member, maybe next to the last piece), look it up (put her name there and Berlin and the place). I love Patricia's work. She won Talent Mania, a Czech-Slovak version of AGT, BGT, etc . in 2010 when she was 12. While she performed in a number of venues doing pop/operatic style numbers through 2013-2014, she shifted her focus and invested in a more operatic preparation over the last 6 or 7 years. Unlike many young girls who have done well in these kinds of competitions and have stayed with pop music, Patricia has had the discipline to to continue with high level professional music/opera training. She has worked with several opera singer mentors and attended the Janecek Conservatory for the past 4 years. She received the first prize award in the XIV International Sacred Music Competition around 2015 plus or minus a year. It is worth watching, both her singing of the music and the awards ceremony. If you search under her name on You Tube, you can chart her growth. Of the many girls and young women who have come through the talent competition formats, she is one of the few for whom a winners place serves as a foundation for further development. If you have the opportunity listen to other of her performances, you should find it to be a positive experience. I watched your review of Angelina Jordan singing Bohemian Raphsody and so much appreciate your analysis of her performance, particularly your treatment of the accapela opening and how that blended into the instrument supported material that followed.. I am a non-musician and your analysis supported my appreciation for her skill and performance. Thank you.

Makes me miss my mama. Listening to this, I kept looking at the dress, which was like something my mama made for my daughter when she was a little girl. Add the beautiful aria, and I'm suddenly thinking with my eyes full.

Elizabeth, I just found out minutes ago that Patricia Janeckova had passed away from breast cancer on 7/10/23. I haven't cried like I just did in a long, long time. She was 25! She was a living Angel and her voice gave her away. I have no doubt you knew about what happened and I thought perhaps it would be a good idea to offer some kind of a tribute to her going back to her appearance on that Talent Show. So sad. So sad.

Elizabeth, I am so sorry, it was 10/1/23 when she passed. Perhaps she was diagnosed with the illness 0n7/10.

Another piece that would be fun to hear your reaction to is Patricia's performance of Fruhlenstimmen. I would love to see that when you do another opera reaction. Thank you, Elizabeth.

I very much enjoyed being introduced to Patricia Janeckova and your explanation as to what I was hearing. Incidentally, I was also impressed with the the strength of the man who was able to handle her like a “doll”! I will repeat my request for a reaction to Hayley Westenra singing I Dream A Dream at BBC Proms in the Park Belfast 2012. Thanks for adding your personal selection videos!

Hi Elizabeth, Thank You for Your Choice video reaction! I LOVED this performance and I LOVED your Reaction & Analysis! I think Patricia's performance as, "a living doll," was just Amazing! She had an incredible stage presence (along w/ spectacular body control/movements) and her voice was Beautiful! I LOVED the way she runs-down and needs to be wound-up (like a wind-up toy doll) before she can continue with the performance! And I Love the reference to, "Ex Machina." Thank You, Elizabeth, for putting a Smile on my Face Today!!! You're the BEST!!!! :-)
